He did 3 inch leg presses at best...that's not heavy at all.
Did Ricky Hatton really legpress 500 KG?

These guys got it right that it wasn';t a full press. Of course he did it though. He's got strong legs and when you're a compact, short-armed puncher you have to get the power from the legs. Look at Marciano and Tyson, two great examples of how Hatton would ideally throw punches.Comment

Clearly you have never done heavy lifting then. The range of motion ricky was doing would make him the laughing stock at any respectable gym. Weight adds up greatly with proper form. Those "leg presses" were a joke and I'm surprised they were bragging about it and worse, showing it on TV!Comment

No, hes not doing it for putting muscle weight on, he just does it for strenght. And stronger legs makes for stronger punches.the real question is... who cares? and im not saying that to discredit your thread.. because i personally was like wow thats a lot for his size... but i say who cares because... legpressing 1100 pounds 10 times doesnt help you move fast around a ring for 12 rounds... i think it hurts him as an athlete more than helps him.. but hes doing it to put muscle weight onLast edited by Tobi.G; 12-07-2007, 03:02 PM.Comment

it was on 24/7....they weren't even full leg presses/....they looked more like alf raises...he wasn't leg pressing all the way...he bent his knees slightly...i could get a bettwe workout with 200 pounds worth of weight....using better rANGE of motion 12 repsComment

I'll chime in for him, beucase you said "it doesn't make it any lighter"...so either you were joking or you are not educated.
Saying Hatton leg pressed 1100lbs indicates something completely different thans eeing what hatton actually did with the 1100lbs. I can leg press like 700lbs, but i could certainly do what hatton did easily.Comment
