i remember after baldomirs fight with gatti how steward said that mayweather needed to fight him and take a risk, i love steward, but i think hes wrong on this one and hes not giving mayweather a fair shake, especially since hatton is a step up.

"Here is a guy who fought the best that he could at 140 (junior welterweight). And he whipped everybody. He's been knocked down, always finds a way to come back and win fights.
"Then moving up to 147 and fighting the best up here. Never dodges anyone."
Never runs from an opponent, either. To Steward, that's all Mayweather does; run from the best and avoid the best.
"You don't want to fight any of these guys and still you want to be considered the top welterweight when you won't even fight welterweights?" Steward said. "I just don't see it. I mean, you got people like Cotto who is out here fighting his (butt) off with the best.
"Great fighters like (Muhammad) Ali, he wouldn't have said, `Well, I don't want to fight this guy because he doesn't mean anything.' He fought everybody, went all over the world, fought all the best fighters in their countries. (Sugar Ray) Robinson did the same thing. Joe Louis. Those were great pound-for-pound fighters. this is the same emanuel steward whose top prize fighter just got knocked out not too long ago. the same manny who earlier in floyd's career predicted that floyd will go on to win two or three championships and become an all time great. the same emanuel steward who gave sharmba mitchell a big chance of beating mayweather, and said he was just as fast. manny is not one to talk about anybody in boxing. he's a two faced hypocrite just like larry merchant. have you guys ever noticed how manny looks and sounds like a puppet when he is commentating a fight with larry merchant. this man down talks floyd's opponents now, but at the time when he fought them, they weren't lackluster then. he's a tool, and nothing else. hall of fame trainer, he is that, but his dumb ass is becoming very senial. what ****ing trainer tells their top fighter that he wished they fought somebody else, while their top dog is in the middle of a fight. he's a clown, manny is. i have no respect for his commentating skills because he forgets what he says, and goes along with the crowd. now, taylor fired his punk ass, so boo hoo manny, stop bitching and suck it up. it wasn't too long ago you were on floyd's ****, now you're downgrading his accomplishments. and, what's funny about this is, that if floyd fired roger and asked manny to become his trainer, i guarantee you manny would run over to floyd like a seven year old runs for the ice cream truck.
