    You could take a bat to Haglers chin and he'd simply smile at you. Doesn't diminish Mugabi's power, imo.

    Yoki, nice pick with Valdez. He could punch through a brick wall and would've ruled the middleweight division if it weren't for Monzon.

      Thanks.

      And in reality, I should've not only mentioned Briscoe's chin, but also that he was another middleweight who'd rank up there when the all-time hardest hitters are discussed for this division. He had dynamite in that left hook of his, and used it to both the head and body with great success.

      Here's a few more big hitters in this division, who haven't been mentioned yet, but certainly have proven throughout their careers that they were more than capable of finishing an opponent with one well placed punch;

      Florentino Fernandez, Tony Zale, Kid McCoy, Al Hostak, Eduardo Lausse, Cyclone Hart, and even guys like Carlos Monzon and Roy Jones (although both were known more for their skill, they certainly had proven knockout power in their hands).

      There's been plenty of power that has come through this division in it's rich history.

        Eugene "Cyclone" Hart is one of the biggest punchers, lb4lb, in history.
        He was your typical KO artist.....virtually no defense, chin, or stamina. He came out & winged bombs with ridiculous power....he either got you or you got him.

        Julian Jackson ?
        He's the best puncher, ever.....but was a little more devasating at 154 than at 160. But, he did crush Herol Graham with one of the sickest punches ever.
        My vote is for Jackson.

          There have been so many-Langford, Ketchel, Graziano, Mugabi, Jackson, although the last two were bigger punchers at 154 then middle. Good call on Valdez-that right hand was a bomb.

            Archie Moore started as a middleweight, before moving up to light heavy... Ancient Archie had 145 KO's, he's another big puncher to add to the list

                    In no order, Mugabi, Jackson, G-Man

                    I'm suprised nobody mentioned Tito or Hearns. Maybe not quite as strong but worth a mention.

                      Just because one guy knocked out another, it doesn't mean he was the harder puncher.

                      If that was the case....I guess Ali hit harder than Foreman, & Holyfield hit harder than Tyson , huh ?
