In a stare-out which lasted a full two minutes, Mayweather broke the deadlock by thrusting his chest at Hatton, knocking him backwards into a table. Hatton then "chested" Mayweather back, keeping his hands firmly by his side, still staring the World No 1 down.

Mayweather aimed several expletives at the British challenger, but Hatton's response was simple and in character. He smiled, winked and ran his finger slowly across his own neck as if to say "tomorrow I will get you". Hatton said immediately afterwards: "These kind of mind games aren't my thing. But he was pushing me. There's a time for a laugh and a joke but the fight is two days away now and I have done my laughing and joking.
"When I leaned back on him, he said 'Don't touch me.' I gave him a little bit of a 'You're dead' gesture."
