At times he will go toe2toe to prove a point, but a toe2toe battle is Hatton's only chance at winning. Floyd's hands may not hold up to a high output toe2toe battle at this point in his career, and that is the main reason he won't look be standing toe2toe too much in this fight.

He hurt his hands on Baldomir's hard head in their fight, which forced him to get on his toes from round 5 on.

Oh, he'll go toe to toe, but only because Hatton is going to be jumping down his throat from bell to bell. Floyd will do whatever he can to avoid any type of phone booth war with Hatton. No amount of public pressure or shame will get Floyd to initiate any lengthy toe to toe session. Anybody who thinks that has never watched Floyd fight before.

To answer the question: No....Floyd will not WILLINGLY go toe to toe with Hatton. If Hatton has his way, Floyd will be forced to.

he may have a heated exchange from time to time (he had an occasional 3/4 punch combo against de la hoya) but it was nothing sustained or consistant (like hatton, pavlik, miranda, cotto, etc. are known for).

The ONLY way i see him going toe to toe is if he absolutely DOMINATES hatton from the opening bell and hatton CLEARLY cant hurt him...

even then its not a sure thing but we DO know hatton has the power to hurt you and he wont 100% dominate him.

Hatton is going to be the presser in the fight (just like de la hoya was).

Hatton will make the fight and floyd will do his best not to make it one while still winning on points.

            Whoever voted yes obviously either:
            A) knows nothing about mayweather and what he really is about
            or
            B) knows nothing about boxing in general.

Floyd hasnt been the presser in a fight in years and a fighter like hatton isnt a good time to attempt to be the presser or to be willing to go toe to toe with someone as lethal as hatton can be.

if floyd goes toe to toe he leaves himself open for those fast; hard punches from hatton.

going toe to toe gives floyd ZERO advantage when it comes to trading with a fighter as hard hitting and fast handed as a prime ricky hatton. he would have had better luck trading with a cory spinks.

if i knew for sure he would go toe to toe i'd put go and place a $100 bet on hatton because a brawl strongly favors the stronger/harder hitting fighter.

but he wont...and floyd will dance and slip punches and defend them all night and stick the jab to a 12 round decision.

floyd wins if he can prevent a brawl.

if it turns into a brawl hatton's chances of winning rise greatly.

but a BOXING match wouldnt give hatton much of a chance to win seeing as how floyd is the far superior BOXER...and hatton is the superior BRAWLER in this fight.

            plain and simple.

Hatton......if the same Hatton that fought Tszyu shows up on Saturday, Floyd is in for the fight of his life. That's my logic anyway.

Floyd went to to toe at times with Gatti, Sharmba, Judah..because they were his size.

Baldmir and Drag Queen were wayyy bigger than Floyd hence out boxing them.

He will blitz Hatton and punish him.

Did anyone see him practicng those body shot counters....man Hatton is in for a long night.

The skill and speed diffrential will be astronomical.

Mayweather also had a height and reach advantage over Baldomir.

His hand was effed up and why risk breaking a hand with a fight with ODH on the line while punching Baldmirs concrete face...and Baldmir was BIGGER than Floyd.

Coorrales was taller...but as far as weight is even.

Baldi was wayy heavier than Floyd.

                      Hatton wont be.
