Till this day, when I look at the punchstat numbers of the Mayweather-Gatti fight, I burst out in laughter.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

Willie Pep's stat winning a round without throwing a single punch. WTF?

I concur, and I've never seen this round. I'd love to see it. He must have been feinting shots at least to win.

****, I forgot about that. Word.

Felix Trinidad's punch stats against Winky Wright (in a fight that was basically pick'em):

                Total: 58 of 557. 10%

                Jabs: 15 of 327. 5%

                Devastation? I think so.

Pretty much any Winky Wright fight's punchstats (except for a select few).

tony thompson landed about 52 percent of his punches over a 10 round heavyweight fight against timur ibragimov... pretty impressive for a big guy

By some accounts, Pep had his hands to his sides or his arms crossed behind him. He stood in front of his foe and presented his face as target. He avoided all punches by moving his head, shoulders and torso ever so slightly. He did all that in over a third of the round, it was said, and made the opponent look utterly silly. I suspect that the crowd's reaction had much to do with the score. They lapped it up and broke into a series of prolonged and loud applause accompanied by equally loud OH!s and AH!s.

Dunno that it's true. I just read about it a few times. Never saw the round; never saw the fight.
