    Boxing = Street Fighting Success!

    How if in anyway has it helped you win a raw street fight no guns or **** like that one where real men fight with there fists.

    I ask this because the subject got brought up at my local gym yesterday and 3 of my mates had different opinions on how it has helped them win street fights. One said it was the weight distribution involved in throwing a perfect punch. Another said it was the defence involved where he said he basically covers up for the first ten seconds then explodes onto this opponent. My other mate said it was the speed of his punches that helped him and being able to judge when to throw to land on your opponent. I think its knowing how to take a punch and the little movements you make with your head that help determine how much impact you take. All of which talk from experience.

    What is your opinion of how it has helped you win a street fight or how you think it would you win.

        i agree with what you said. basically the little things like moving your head, keeping your eyes on your opponent, not flinching, and that mentality of "make him miss, make him pay". it also helps you deal with the physical pain of getting hit. even though the other guy isn't wearing gloves, most guys in the gym hit harder with sparring gloves on than most guys do in the street.

        i try not to get in fights though.

            Anyways, here's the best vid for this thread.

            Watch Ray KO some big muscly guy and then Jorge comes in much smaller than Ray and pieces him up.

              it helps, but you can't actually box in a street fight or you'll get slammed horrendously.

              There's some boxers who'll get busted in a street fight but they'll paint you a picture in the squard circle.

              Sweet Pete, I imagine you know Jorge does either mma training or boxing right?

                Yes I know that, which is why I posted it in the thread, to show that boxing works in a street fight. Pretty obvious.

                    You need some clinching and wrestling skills, but usually, unless the opponent is a skilled wrestler or grappler, boxing can get you by, as most street fools will just try to scrap.
