Although it has been reported that the highly anticipated trilogy between Israel “Magnifico” Vazquez and Rafael Marquez is a done deal, Vazquez’s manager, Frank Espinoza, insists that those reports are erroneous.
“Israel and I have yet to sign off since we haven’t heard from our promoters at Sycuan Ringside after several attempts to communicate with them,” stated Espinoza from his home base in Los Angeles. “Israel is the WBC and “The Ring” Super bantamweight champion. He deserves to know what’s happening every step of the way and that’s not the reality of the situation.”
“I definitely want the Marquez fight,” said Vazquez from Mexico City where he’s visiting family. “But I need to know if this fight is actually going to happen so I can start training. Otherwise we have to consider other options.”
