Can anyone explain this to me...

In pretty much all the boxing fights that I have watched where it is the boxer against the swarmer/brawler/puncher/whatever, it seems like the boxer uses his quickness to win the first few rounds. Then, after that, the swarmer/whatever may or may not take over, but usually they do give away the first few rounds.

Can ANYONE tell me why everyone is picking Ricky to win the first few rounds?

Mayweather's your favorite fighter and you still dont know his style.

he feels guys out for about 3-4 rounds.

And he still wins the rounds...

Hence Lampley's quote: "Judah is ahead after 4 rounds on Lederman's card, I don't think we've ever seen that before."

That completely depends. Floyd sometimes applies pressure from the get-go- maybe not recently, but that's because his opposition has been bigger. Despite that, I think you're right with Ricky's case. He'll see what Hatton brings to the table and fight accordingly.

Yup, until the next two fights, it had been unusual to see Floyd down in points at any time in a fight. That's why I say that he only felt Baldi and DLH out because their size made them a new kind of territory.

I think it's the opposite really.

They win the first few rounds, throw a ****load of punches, and tire out towards the end.

Or in Hatton's case. Wins the first few rounds, Doesn't tire out, Floyd adjusts and dominates afterwards.

Okay... well in every Floyd fight I have seen, Mayweather is ahead after 3 rounds... except for the Judah fight, when another "boxer" was outhustling him.

He was up against Jesus Chavez, who seems to be the closest to what Hatton will bring, and Mayweather certainly didn't lose rounds feeling him out. He felt him out, and won, with counters, which is usually how feeling out works.

              Am I wrong on this?

Yeah true. I don't know how Harlod Lederman gave the first round to Jesus Chavez on that fight though. Dumbass...

                  Agreed, that was ridiculous.
