first off you cant knock roy for getting beat when he was 34 - 35... when floyd stays undefeated when hes 35, then ok... but floyd has a few more years before he can say look what happened to roy... its too soon in floyds career to compare to roys career

ill disagree that floyd is more talented then roy... just different styles... roy can throw 4 hooks in one second.. i have the video... and as far as floyd fighting into his 40's undefeated... the only problem with that is... like u said his hands.. and the older you get the less you throw... the REASON hatton has a chance against floyd.. is workrate.. and as floyd gets older is work rate will slow down... and so will his reflexes, just like james toney, as time went by and used that shoulder roll less and less...

im not saying whose better though... but were talking PRIME here... and to me there both unbeatable in there prime

If you want to know who would win regardless of weight prime vs prime, its roy jones.

But if you want to know who I think is a better boxer, its floyd mayweather.

Roy was not human in his prime, he depended on his superman reflexes, but once they were gone...he could'nt depend on much.

Floyd on the other hand depends on his counterpunching defensive style, connecting punches while not letting your opponents connect punches.

The difference between Floyd and Roy isn't just power. Floyd relies on defense, Roy doesn't have to he sees the shots coming and counters you hard. Roy actually played with his opponents until he got bored. When you get criticized for being too good you know you're doing something right.

Roy was actually exciting in his prime, can't really say I could say the same about Floyd

1st off, countering is defense. i bet roy wished he could have relied on his defense against tarver and johnson huh? anyway, floyd's defense gets compared to willie pep's and pernell whitaker's. hello, defense is very important inboxing when it comes to not getting hit, that's why it's called defense. floyd's vest traits are his eyes smart guy, which is why he is a much better counterpuncher than roy was and is and i have both of their careers on dvd and tape, so i can claim this. roy relied on his athleticism more than anything else, which is why a lot of his knockouts and knock downs came from him leaping at his opponents. floyd is technically sound to the core. he wouldn't have to rely on athletic ability(which he damn sure has) to defeat roy because floyd mastered the basics and and put his own spin on it, which is why he would block many of roy's punches and that leaping left hook that roy had would mean little to nothin gagainst a fighter like floyd. roy was unorthodox with his left hook against toney when he knocked him down, but against floyd whose defense is sensational like sweet pea's was, he would rarely land it if he threw it in bunches or single shotted it, it wouldn't matter. floyd's defense kills roy, no doubt about it. i've seen fights where roy showboats and made them fun to watch, but against fighters who looked suseptable against his shots and were thrown off by them, floyd is, and read this carefully, FLOYD IS A MASTER AT USING HIS OPPONENT'S STRENGTH'S AGAINST THEM, AND ROY WOULD BE NO DIFFERENT. lets agree that... mayweathers quick defesne... quick counterpunching... and accuracy... has EVERYTHING to also do with reflexes... without reflexes you cant hit the openings, and you dont move fast enough from incoming punches... floyd mayweather is simply not old enough to lose his reflexes yet... every boxer has to rely on there reflexes or there a sitting duck
