Juan Diaz To Move Forward With Katsidis

The proposed bout between WBO/WBA/IBF lightweight champion Juan Diaz (33-0, 17KOs) and mandatory Michael Katsidis (23-0, 20KOs) is moving forward for Feb. 9 on HBO. Last week at the WBO headquarters in Puerto Rico, Oscar De La Hoya gained the promotional rights to the fight with a winning purse bid of $1.5 million. [details]

I'll be sure to watch Katsidis. I hadn't seen him fight till the B-Hop/Wright card. It was extremely entertaining.

I'd take the fight, too, if I were offered $1.2M.

wow...this has FOTY candidate for 2008 written all over it. Another great undefeated match up but with 2 pressure fighters... hell yeah, entertaining indeed

SO glad they got this fight made.

Its going to be wildly entertaining, but unless Juan Diaz gets caught with something massive, i think he wins

I hope this isn't on BAD. This is a Lampley fight. It's going to be a war, nothing less.

I can't wait for this fight, should be good but Juan is taking this fight and it sounds like he is done with Don King and Oscar could once again be the front runner to get Daiz. I think Oscar would be good for Diaz's career. can't wait for this fight and proves Juan will fight anyone and everyone. Props to him for taking this fight being his mandatory against a tough opponent.
