really? so what your saying is that the only way to be "tactical" in a fight is just to pick when to throw punches? if you watch that highlight video, you'll see a lot of positioning, precision, etc. Marquez had a game plan that night but he just fell short.

anyways, to answer your question... I don't know, I have only seen them fight each other.

BUT, I will tell you that if they are tactical boxers, they didn't show me in their fights against each other.

Just like Barrera can be a technical defensive master, but he didn't show it against Morales in the first and third fights.

Obviously those fights were badass to watch, but I also can appreciate the second fight, even in its low points.

I am impressed by fighters who have a reason for everything they do, IF everything they do is leading towards a win.

I don't appreciate fighters who try to survive to losing a decision, but other than that, I can usually appreciate any match.
this post leads me to believe that you felt they were just brawling.

        I would rather watch Whitaker/McGirt than Vazquez/Marquez.

Two master technicians operating in the same ring like that is amazing to behold.

Well they certainly weren't excercising a whole lot of defense, which seems to leave a big TACTIC out.

A tactical fight does have to include a decent amount of defense, because carelessly letting yourself get smacked over and over is not the best tactic to excercise.

as well as it should include offense. that fight had as much offense as mayweather has defense and it lacked defense as much as mayweather lacks offense. not saying that he doesnt have offense but he doesnt exercise it as much just like vazquez or marquez do not exercise their defense as much.

No, 2501, Mayweather excercises 1000000% more offense than they had with defense.

Mayweather would lose every round of every fight if what you are saying is true.

At the end of the day, Floyd's mix of offense and defense is a winning one, just like Hopkins. They don't do a ton of damage, but they also limit the offense of their opponents. Floyd and Bernard achieve more offense than their opponents. Sorry, but it's true.

but at the end of the day, people would rather watch fighters like Vazquez and Marquez because of their willingness to take risk. you can pit that fight against Mayweather/Corrales and people will still choose that rematch. Theres a plain and simple reason for that. Sorry, but it's true.

Vasquez Marquez because as we have seen twice, their styles make for a better fight.

one fight i would like to see is Viper Forrest against Spinks

Well obviously, I would prefer to watch Vazquez-Marquez II instead of Mayweather-Corrales. I likely wouldn't even keep a copy of Mayweather-Corrales on my computer if it weren't for Mayweather being one of my favorite fighters.

I just start to get a problem when people ***** about those fights, saying they aren't tolerable, and that real boxing fans shouldn't watch those. That **** just sounds ****** to me.

Which fight did I like better out of Pavlik-Taylor or Calzaghe-Kessler? Pavlik-Taylor hands down, but it's not like I didn't enjoy Calzaghe-Kessler.

i never said any of that. if you look at my sig, you'll know what i think of mayweather. i know the best in the world is. but the notion that the only fighters who will exchange and put it all on line are skill-less, mindless, lead fisted sluggers is a bigger offense to the sport of Boxing than those criticizing mayweather's style. i posted the Vazquez/Marquez fight for a reason being that you can have an exciting dramatic fight WITH incredible boxing skill and talent.
