Hopkins is showing his age and looking sluggish as well. if he can barley deal with a blown up southpaw winky, how will he deal with a fresh, prime, southpaw slickster Calzaghe. i don't even think Hopkins is looking for this fight, i think hes more intrested in the Jones-Trinidad winner.
I haven't seen Bernard really show his age yet either... he is not that athletic anymore, but I can't remember the last fight he won with athleticism... it was before Trinidad, I know that.

And don't give me this, "He looked bad against Winky" bull****.

EVERYONE in the world looks bad against Winky, just like people are writing off Winky because he looked bad against Hopkins. EVERYONE looks bad against Hopkins.

Joe would look bad against Hopkins, which is why I say that he barely and only barely pulls a V out.

      Dwiens,

you are in denial because Joe would dominate Hopkins. even if Hopkins did that ****** hold and hit BS that he always do, i see Calzaghe winning big.
and he was suppose to look good against winky. did winky make him look sluggish? did winky make him hold and hit? he didn't. father time is finally catching up with B-Hop. Calzaghe is coming off a win over a fighter that will dominate the division once Joe leaves. (Kessler) and he looked shockingly impressive when he did it. we can even bet that Calzaghe wins a UD.

I am NOT in denial. I don't even like Hopkins, and I am a huge Winky fan.

Winky did NOT make him hold and hit. Rather, it was Winky's gameplan not stopping that that made the decision go against him.

Hopkins does hold a lot, and waste a lot of the time in a round so he can only fight for a small portion of it, which compensates for his lack of youth.

I don't think he will be able to do this enough to win against Calzaghe, but this will be one of the worst fights showcasing Calzaghe's talents.

yeah it would be an ugly fight. im not sure if Hopkins is strong enough to hold and hit against Calzaghe the way he did with the smaller fighters. he tried to hold and hit against Jermain but Jermain was too big and strong so it didn't work. and Calzaghe is the naturally bigger man anyway so who knows.
