Most fighters sure, most top 10 fighters in either of those divisions, I don't think so.
Well yes he was good, but much too inactive and much slower than he was in his prime to be effective. Not to mention he lacked the stamina to be any good past the 6th round.Comment

Losses to a much bigger Hopkins, and Shane Mosely in a fight where a lot of people felt Oscar deserved the victory. Two pretty good opponents if you ask me. Oscar was also coming off a sensational proformance against Ricardo Mayorga.
Floyd fought Oscar at 154, while weighing 148 on fight night compared to Oscar weighing 160+. It was also his first fight at 154, and his 5th weight class in 9 years. Not to mention giving up every single advantage possible, from ring size, to gloves, to location, etc. Sorry bud, that's impressive anyway you slice it.Last edited by deliveryman; 12-02-2007, 11:02 PM.Comment

That's funny considering De La Hoya banked rounds 6,7, and 8.He faded after that, imo.
That and I think he could still beat most fighters at 154 except Spinks (he'd get to tired chasing him around) and possibly Forrest. Maybe even Karminazan could too, but I doubt it.Comment

At the time I considered Corrales a bigger threat against Floyd. Corrales was bigger and stronger and was undefeated. All the people who say Floyd ducked certain people like Morales, Barrera, etc. pull names out of a hat. Floyd wasn't in the same weightclass with these guys years back. Floyd wasn't a household name either. His first big PPV was in 05.Comment
