Chavez Jr - What I saw in him last night

    The Good:

I think Chavez Jr. showed last night that he has more skill than many people give him credit for. He ducked and blocked a lot of punches. He showed that despite being son of a made man he is tough when the going gets tough. He showed he has a good punch as well and decent timing.

    The Bad:

He is not ready for the big leagues yet. I hope they don't rush him against a real danger just yet because he simply is not where he needs to be. Though he did avoid a lot of punches he also got hit needlessly quite a few times. He missed a lot of opportunities also because of his inexperience. In welterweight division, right where Sanchez was quitting other tough men, just like him are just starting to get going. Chavez should also definitely stick to 147... 150 isnt his weight u could tell on his body he had additional mass you dont see other top conditioned fighters with.

    The Future:

I think if they keep taking him slow he has real potential I just hope they don't rush him.

    The Fight:

A very exciting back and forth fight definitely worth downloading and watching if you didn't see it don't miss it!

I have always said he gets hit to willingly. But he is getting better from last i seen him.

The Gomez fight would be good to please some of the haters, imo he'll stop Gomez.

you saw him beat another bum with no significance to the fight. he has fought D- level competition for a while and its time for him to step it up.

Chavez Jr. is improving as a Boxer, period.

It's funny how the announcer always give him more winnings that what he has recorded in reality. Part of being the continuing of a legend who defeated over 70 bums??? That's a record Mayweather is shooting for.

Chavez Jr. is looking Very Good, but he should shut the **** up before calling bums out. If you are going to give respect to another fighter and call him out... let it be someone worth mentioning. Why doesn't he calls out Clottey or Margarito??? Why bums like Gomez and Baldomir??? If Chavez Jr is going to fight Baldomir or Gomez, he should keep it low media. That's a shame! Calling out their names was pathetic.

Take it slow, he is young and has plenty of time. maybe one more year of experience should get him to where he needs to be.

He's always going to be judged hard because of his dad. He looks to be improving and a fight with Gomez would answer a lot more questions about where he is right now in his development.

Wow, talk about being a hater. Baldomir has fought with Floyd, Forrest, Judah and Clottey. He has a great chin and has experiance. This is a great opponet for Chavez. He was already going to face Gatti but Gatti wasn't suppose to lose to Gomez.

His time will come to step it up, he'll either pass or fail. Simple as that.

Not a hater. I like Cesar Chavez Jr. But dude needs more experience. Baldomir is a bum. Don't call bums out. Just shut the **** up and fight whomever you got to fight until you prove you are good enough to call a worthy opponent.

Paul Williams is also young and don't got much more experience. He called out a respected fighter like Margarito. If I do recall well, the announcer said he was undefeated with 33 wins... same as Paul Williams. Why keep fighting bums like Sanchez, Baldomir and Gomez??? I believe he is going to be a champ some day, but for now, if you are not going to walk the walk, don't talk ****. He said he was in a superior league when compared to Sanchez. SHOW SO... OR Chavez Jr. needs to shut up.

i'll admit i wasn't a believer at first, but people see his wins and think he should be fighting contenders, fact is his first 30 or forty fights are like his amatuer career, the guy is 21 years old.

Once again, CHAVEZ JR HAD NO AMATEUR CAREER. lets take paul williams, counting his amateur career, which was limited, he has all together about 58 fights. Now chavez had no amateur carrer and has 34 fights. both these guys got a lot of experience in the pros. Williams is just now making his mark, and Chavez is about to start doing the same, what more do you want from the kid. Guys who go for the title in their 20th fight or so have probably over 100's of amateur fights, i dont get whats so hard to comprehend.
