  • Pay Your Respects To Joe Calzaghe

In this thread, you may talk about the great man, and the lasting legacy he will leave behind. Baring in mind it's fecking obvious he will beat Clinton Woods, and Bernard Hopkins if he decides to leave the comfort of his rocking chair

Alternatively, if you wish to discredit Joe Calzaghe, enlightened posters can feel free to point and laugh at you.

I respect his skills. He's fast as hell and he makes everyone fight his fight.

A great man. A decent man. A lovely family man.

We love you Joe. If the Hopkins fight doesn't happen, go for Woods and claim another title for yourself and your legion of fans.

      Joe Calzaghe: We salute, sir.

Joe is a great talent but there is one flaw, he choose micky duff as his first manager which as he also says was the worst thing he's done, i would have loved to see frank w take him under his wing earlier so we could have had more superfights while he was younger.

One thing I have to say about Joe is that he got hosed as far as credit goes, at least here in America. I have followed boxing for a long time, and I didnt really hear Joe's name brought up much when people discussed the top fighters in the world. I was impressed with the one sided beating he gave ol' "Lefthook" but I was really, really impressed with how great he boxed Kessler. What really stood out was the fact that he fought until the end. He had to know he had the fight won barring a knockout, but he fought until the bell. That is badass to do against a guy who hits as hard as Kessler, especially at this point in Joe's career. I dont think he can be beat right now by anyone at his weight. Kessler had the best chance, fought hard, and couldnt get it done. That speaks volumes.
