If you can't see Judah was handin Floyd his ass early, you just refuse to see reality!
Zab in fact did catch floyd w/ some good shots in those earlier rds. I wouldnt go as far as saying he was handling mayweather w/ ease b/c the rds werent that one-sided IMO. However, it's not necessarily how you start the fight rather it's how you end it. Everybody knows floyd uses the first few rds to feel out his opponent then makes his adjustments from there which is what he did against both judah & de la hoya. From the middle rds to the end, he picked them apart and controlled the fight easily. Any top notch professional fighter has a chance to win when he steps in the ring, but this is clearly floyd's fight to win or lose. Everyone knows what hatton's game plan will be..hell, he only has one style. There's no way he's going to attempt to outbox floyd on the outside just like there's no way floyd is going to **** w/ him every rd on the inside. With that being said, if floyd & roger dont make the right preparations in training camp when they know exactly what his opponent is going to do then oh well..shame on them. I know mayweather pops a lot of **** but I dont think for a second he's underestimating hatton by any means (the last 24/7 ep showed me that). After sparring 14rds w/ baldomir who's currently campaigning at 154, they showed floyd on his knees earlin' in a bucket. According to floyd & roger, they dont use a bell in the mayweather gym nor do they simply spar 3min rds..the bulk of those rds are 5mins & up. No one should question mayweather's work ethic & discipline..while many fighters spend a good portion of camp just getting the weight down..he's working on strategy & technique. Say what you will about his demeanor but the boy is a consummate professional athlete..always in shape year rd..always training. It should be an exciting fight..and many questions will be answered that night. Hatton says floyd cant throw shots hard enough to back him up. Im sure judah & de la hoya thought the same but there's a reason why the constant pressure technique slowed up significantly in those bouts. Floyd's power, much like hatton's speed is underestimated by many until you get in the ring w/ him. Will ricky be in the shape necessary to expend that kind of energy for 12rds? Will this simply be mayweather / gatti II revisited? As for hatton scoring a k-o (which I read someone's post predicting), I doubt very seriously that will occur. Mayweather has yet to be SERIOUSLY hurt in any bout or even come close to tasting the canvas. He's been in w/ bigger guys & harder punchers (or opponents who had just as much power as hatton)..and wasnt remotely overwhelmed. Finally, was hatton's earlier 147 campaign (against collazo) a fluke or is his skill set best suited for 135 & 140? All these ?'s & more will be ans'd Dec 8th.
