        Ummm....IMO Joe Cortez was not the optimal choice for Hatton. Steve Smoger was.....without doubt.

        However, Cortez is lightyears better than Nady. So I'd say that the Cortez selection was a wash.

            agreed, Smoger is the kind of ref that lets the fight be a fight!

            I can't stand refs that are too much in the action- the best are rarely seen!

              That ref in the Lacy/Reid fight (Jorge Alonso) was the worst I've ever seen. Breaks them up, has his hand on Lacy's shoulder, lets Lacy knock Reid down, doesn't take away a point or give a warning, and then is on Reid's case the rest of the night.
