Forrest couldn't captilize when Piccirillo was on the ropes. Compare his bout to Mosley or even the Baldomir bout. When Forrest had them in trouble he'd go after them.

His legs just looked like they were missing something tonight. He should have maybe cut off the ring more or something. Piccirillo would back up to the ropes, and he wouldn't do that much. Just kinda stand there and wait. I mean he has the power to do so, obviously since he had 3 knockdowns. Just didn't looked as swift as the other Vernon Forrest did.

    Anybody else agree?

he looked good enough to me. maybe not quite as quick as before but what do you expect at the age. he did a good job at cutting of the ring from what i could see. he also landed some good body shots and good straight rights. Piccirillo is supposed to have a good defence and he looked quick him self so it was a good win for forrest. I think the reason he wants the Mayorga fight is because the 2nd fight was very close and vernon feels he can beat him although i would rather see him fight spinks.

He may not have the speed when he was younger, but I thought he wasn't really slow. He was picking off Piccirillo off all night and like what was mentioned before he was supposed to be good at defense. Plus he KO'ed a guy that hadn't been KO'ed in 50+ fights. I thought it was a pretty good performance. I would like to see him fight Mayorga next, it should be a good one.
