You know what's crazy I actually for once agree with Viva with the exception to DLH and Hatton, even though Hatton is in a lower weight class. DLH even though he was old and a shadow of his former self can still whoop just about anyone in the divison. What I am saying is how is he gonna say all this with Antonio Margarito in his avy and keep a straight face?
proof mayweather fought only bums after castillo

Just a little history lesson for you kids. Phillip N'Dou was 31-0 with 30 KO's when he fought Floyd Mayweather. A while after Floyd beat him via stoppage, N'Dou was discovered to have something wrong with his brain (I don't want to say brain damage because that may be incorrect). He fought once more and lost a very close SD to Isaac Hlatswayo (who is now 27-1). He retired because he could have been severly injured had he continued to box. I've heard some people say that his fight with Floyd is what triggered the brain damage although I wouldn't go that far. However, he was a VERY talented fighter. In fact he reminds me of a guy like Edison Miranda except N'Dou was a better all-around boxer, not just a KO artist.
The point is, before you start a thread spouting off about a fighter, please know what the **** you're talking about.Comment

That he is p4p 1 by the ring magazine , and Margarito is ...?Comment

He had a previous KO loss to a Guy who was 13-14-4... His one non KO win was his only Fight against an undeafeated guy.. Who had built a 26-0 record againt even worse BUMS than himself.. His 30 KO's were against Complete bums...
His First step up .. His FIRST step up was against Floyd.. were he was quicly dispatched in 7 rounds..
Philip N'dou had a padded record and lost the only 2 BIG fights of his carreer..
Remember Peter McNeely?? the guy was 36-0 LOL Records can be VERY misleading..Last edited by Welter_Skelter; 12-01-2007, 01:45 PM.Comment

ndou: if he was a good fighter why did he lost his next fight after mayweather then retire???
corley: mayweather fought this guy coming off a loss. since mayweather he has lost 4 of 7 fights and he lost to 2 journeyman. this guy is total garbage. having a belt in your career dont make yo ua good fighter.
bruseles: fought nothing but bums and old fighters his whole career.
He was former WBO Latino light welter weight champ and hasn't lost since Mayweather, and is current WBO NABO light welterweight champ. Not an A-level opponent, but not a bum either since he isn't losing to bums.
gatti: has lost to bums his whole career. he had a good win streak by handpicking opponents until he had to fight mayweather. since mayweather he was knocked out by 2 lighting hitting punchers and retired.
Notable losses before Mayweather come from:
Angel Manfredy
Ivan Robinson
Oscar De La Hoya
Micky Ward
Of course, the worst opponent being Micky Ward, which says a lot about his heart, and we know how those fights went.
Gomez and Baldy caught Gatti at the tail end of his career. He'd taken the most brutal beating of his career from Mayweather and was already getting old. After the Floyd fight, there was nothing left except for the 11th rd TKO against Damgard.
mitchell: decent fighter who was old and washed up when mayweather fought him. some say it was a warm up fight for 147 but why are you fighting a guy who fights at 140 for a tune up at 147??? this was really just another case of mayweather handpicking easy opponents. if you get knocked out by mayweather at 147 you seriously are a no chinned bum.
judah: another overrated bum. got lucky to win the 147 belt and defended against nothing but bums like pineda martell and rivera. judah was coming off a loss when he lost to one of the bums he usually defends his belt against in baldomir. judah is very overrated because he has always lost to any good fighter he fought and he has lost and struggled with bums his whole career.
Yes, he slacked against Baldomir but it isn't like he got ktfo. Styles make fights and the former undisputed champ was still a threat to Mayweather as seen in the first 4 rounds. Zab was a very good opponent and is still a decent one.
baldomir: he got lucky against judah but he is a total bum. look at the kind of bums judah was defending against and baldomir fit in perfectly. he was old and slow. he just got lucky one night. he has fought nothing but bums so now when he steps up to real competition he gets destroyed just like forrest schooled him for 12 rounds. this guy is a joke.
dlh: past his prime promoter who had a year layoff and hadnt beat anybody good since vargas in 2002. a win over dlh would have meant something maybe 5 years earlier.
In summary, you're just a hater. Not one of these people are "bums", as we define it in American usage.Last edited by sonofisis; 12-01-2007, 02:21 PM.Comment

Sosa was a very solid fighter and top ranked contender. He was Dominican Republic lightweight champion and hadn't lost since he'd fought Paul Spadafora, who is still undefeated. Since then, his only other loss was to another undefeated fighter in Miguel Cotto. He only lost to A-level fighters and was a formidable contender for Mayweather at light weight..
Because he had some kind of brain trauma and HAD to retire. The guy was 31-1 with 30 KOs when he faced Mayweather and had previously won a few regional titles at feather weight and super feather weight before he built his resume in order to put himself in a position to challenge Floyd. After that, he lost to fellow south African prospect, and current IBO welterweight champ, Isaac Hlatswayo, who is 27-1 and received his only loss from Kendall Holt. beating others such as Nate Campbell and other notable contenders.
Actually, this was Mayweather's first fight at 140 and it was against the former WBO champ who'd just lost to Zab Judah. It was a good test against a very good opponent who's only lost to A-level fighters. These last few mishaps simply mark the end of his career, but says nothing about his talent level. After the beatings from Zab, Mayweather and Cotto, I wouldn't expect anything differently now.
Brussels was part of Miguel Cotto's training camp and in preparation for the fight, Cotto actually gave Brussels a good chance to win.
He was former WBO Latino light welter weight champ and hasn't lost since Mayweather, and is current WBO NABO light welterweight champ. Not an A-level opponent, but not a bum either since he isn't losing to bums.
Gatti indeed did have a great streak of wins against good competition leading up to the Mayweather bout, which earned him the match. Gatti has never lost to bums.
Notable losses before Mayweather come from:
Angel Manfredy
Ivan Robinson
Oscar De La Hoya
Micky Ward
Of course, the worst opponent being Micky Ward, which says a lot about his heart, and we know how those fights went.

Mitchell wasn't old and washed up, he was just in a position where he was starting to now get backed into a corner by so many fighters that were A-level and apparently better than him. Before Mayweather, his only losses were to Stevie and Leavander Johnson and Kosta Tszyu. He was WBA light welter weight champ and WBO interim champ and actually accomplished more at 140 than Mayweather. He was a very good stepping stone to get to the WW crown, for his first fight at WW.
Judah is no where near overrated, his talent and skill is apparent. How in the hell did he get lucky by beating Spinks when both matches were dead even? Spinks just got clocked in the second one, which was one of Zab's greatest performances. Before that, he was IBF jr. welter weight champ who'd defended his title several times before losing to Tszyu, to pop right back up, beat Corley for the WBO and then move up in weight and win the undisputed crown. No flukes involved whatsoever, he kept going after belts and got them through shear skill and determination.
Yes, he slacked against Baldomir but it isn't like he got ktfo. Styles make fights and the former undisputed champ was still a threat to Mayweather as seen in the first 4 rounds. Zab was a very good opponent and is still a decent one.
Baldomir was 19-0-2 leading up to the Mayweather fight nd hadn't lost in 8 years! He was WBC International welterweight champ and natural mandatory fr Judah's crown, in which he capitalized own. He beat some good prospects and undefeated fighters like Frank Olsen and even Joshua Clottey, who he frustrated into head butting, hence winning by DQ. He drew with an undefeated Jose Luis Cruz and beat the heavily favored up and coming prospect, Miguel Angel Rodriguez to earn the fight with Judah. After that, beating both Judah and Gatti. Baldomir was a good champ and I don't care what anyone says. Pointing at his losses are futile since they don't tell us much more than Baldo
DLH was an excellent win. Calling him a bum only makes you that much more ignore worthy. he's only 4 years older than Floyd with 4 more fights under his belt. He was still in great shape, the best he's been in in a while and his last win was a great performance. There was no indication at all that he was faded. No one can point out anything material which would allude to this, which is why people who make this claim make it based on circular reasoning, but can't offer evidence of any signs. He was fast, jab was great, fast, strong, reflexes were great, he looked really good in that fight actually, so this is a ****** excuse. Floyd himself doesn't fight as often as he used to either, so that's immaterial.
