Has the popilarity of heavyweight boxing really declined?.

I know its become a cliche to say that the heavyweight divsion is on life support at the moment there is so little interest from the general public . While i agree that is true in america . What about eastern europe where the heavyweights such as povetkin and klitschko are as populat there as ali and tyson ever were . People always say boxing has become a minortity sport but was it ever a major sport anywhere else other than the usa.

Yes, it is absolutely ****ing terrible.

I get excited for World Championship Boxing, but a whole lot less so when it is featuring heavyweights.

man, I still like the Heavyweights. Wlad is exciting, chagaev is decent, Sam Peter is a monster. Then you have Gomez, Povetkin and Boystov in the fringes. Valuev is good for pure freak value. There just isn't any Americans, from a Brit perspective if Haye can do anything this country will be loving the heavies again.

          HELLLLLLLLLS YES!!!!

A heavyweight title fight holds ZERO meaning or importance in the states anymore, even if and when we DID have title holders

When I think about boxing, I think anything from middleweight and down. Above that there are too many egos and not enough big fights.

Chambers is interesting with his Winky like style, and he is very quick for a heavy. If he were just a bit bigger...........
