Don King Pushing For Chagaev-Meehan on 1/19

According to reports in the Australian media, promoter Don King is making moves to land Kali Meehan (33-3, 27KOs) a title shot against WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (23-0-1, 17KOs). Meehan is better than Skelton, so if those are the choices, I'm down.

Either though are **** defenses and big drops in quality for Chagaev. He's beaten Ruiz, Virchis, and Valuev. Meehan and Skelton are a class below that. He should probably rematch Virchis instead.

Neither one of these fights should be made, Chagaev can do better than that.

Chagaev would kill Meehan and Skelton, which would be good for his TV ratings. While he bides his time waiting for unification, he could get some good exposure and have people start asking about him.

I would have liked it if he fought Mike Mollo or Dimitrenko instead.

cause these are crappy opponents. and at least Mollo and Dimitrenko are rated in the WBAs top ten.

This is worse than Skelton... Neither of these guys should anywhere near fighting a Championship belt..

Meehan?? He has fought 3 bums.. since being embarressed by Hasim Rahman.. Then he beats a Very beatable Dvarryl Williamson.. and now he gets a Title shot???

How much longer will this Don King Freak be around???

i have seen a few of Mollo's fights he seems quite good to me i know he lost to Dvarryl Williamson but i still think he deserves a title shoot more than a skelton or meehan. Mollo is a king fighter why doesn't he try and get him better fights.

Mollo is at least exciting, so if youre going to have a worthless title defence, why not let it be an exciting one?
I think Mollo is supposed to be fighting Golota or something like that. Mollo is only 27, so maybe he could get better. He has a pretty huge left hook actually, he really decked that fellow from Poland with it.

I dont get. if Chagaev is getting an optional defence now, why couldnt he have unified with Wlad? sorry Imbragimov, but Chagaev vs. Wlad is much more meaningful.
