People's body’s work in different ways just because someone can stay in the gym without there body's breaking down and getting injured all the time doesn’t mean that someone else can do the same thing just look at vitali. It may well be an excuse but we wont know.

Can he play mind games with his opponents at 42? Yup.

Can he control the ring and blunt his opponent's offense doing so? Yizzur.

A 42 year old can win fights if he doesn't have to land a bunch of punches.

Consider this, he kept Jermain Taylor under 90 landed punches in their first fight.

Mayweather Jr. depends on his athleticism a whole lot more than most fighters, and maybe working his body everyday in the gym has decreased his athletic life expectancy. Who knows?

Anyways, it really all might be a mind game, as said earlier.
Ok, well Calzaghe is 6 years older than Floyd and is even more active in fights than Floyd is, and he's been fighting pro 3 years longer. Floyd is in peak condition and is just making excuses incase he loses.

There were rumours about Kessler having hand injuries before the Calzaghe fight and when he lost he said they wern't true and basically admitted he was beat fair and square. Floyd would never do that in a million years.

What if Hatton does win then, will Floyds fans point to these problems and say Hatton wouldn't have beat a fit PBF, will PBF call on the excuses or would he be man enough to accept defeat.

I think if Hatton gets beat he'll take it like a man and be gracious in defeat but I'm not so sure about Floyd.

That is a great point and in that respect, he may be feeling the ticks of time wearing down his "athleticism". We all going to get older. BUT, as one of the P4P best, he should never talk like that. There's no "machismo" to showing weakness at his level. True or not, I don't think he should talk like that because it can start good questions like those posed in this thread. Even if he feels worn down, he should just suck it up and be quiet.

I would fight on without whinning if I was getting paid $10,000,000 to knuckle.

Hopkins is a one off, and doesnt fight at the same level mayweather does.

And hopkins cant do half the **** mayweather does in training,

You ever seen, mayweather jump rope, or do the speed bag with a can of coke in his hand, he is prolly the best in the world at training.

yes. We could be seeing a Mike Tyson type thing where once the athleticism fades, something that always fades with time, they lost a lot of that skill that they needed to be phenoms in the sport. Both are/were pretty technically sound, with Mayweather having the better physical attributes and technical prowess. The question is, does Mayweather have the balls to gut things out like Shane Mosley, Vargas, Oscar, B-Hop, and others do as their skills fade?

Or maybe its all BS and more excuses from Floyd.

P.s, if mayweather really isnt fit, he should pull out, or delay the fight, the morons will say he is ducking, but he shouldnt do the fight unless he is 100%.

Complain??? This is getting ridiculous. He was not complaining. The boy had to go to therapy and even his therapist vouched for what was happening. On HIS show, he has the right to talk about what is happening in his life as it pertains to his preperation for his fight.

He has been fighting and training hard for 20 years. He doesn't take breaks, therefore he needs no excuse. He works too hard and joint issues and pain are a natural result of that. The body is NOT a machine. Excuse my behind. He's not making any excuses. Floyd's hands have been an issue for years now, and obviously an issue he works to overcome. He's going to win Dec. 8th, sore hands or not.....
