It will be a rematch of the ages, Pacquiao-Marquez II.
Everything has been set, except for the formalities. A press conference to announce the megafight deal is scheduled on December 20 in Los Angeles to be attended by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank executives as well as main protagonists Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico.
"It's almost a done deal," Pacquiao friend and confidant Rex 'Wakee' Salud has informed PhilBoxing.com. "Manny is happy with the purse he is getting for this fight so the fight will push through."
Marquez earlier told ********** that “we accepted their terms, now its up to Bob Arum and Pacquiao to decide if they are going to fight me or keep running.”
With Marquez's acceptance of the terms offered by the Pacquiao camp, it looks like the deal has been sealed.
Bob Arum and HBO had earlier set a March 15, 2008 date for Pacquiao's next fight.
Salud also informed that Bob Arum will come to the Philippines for Pacquiao's birthday on Dec. 17 after which Arum and Pacquiao will leave for Los Angeles on Dec. 19 to rendezvous with the Golden Boy people headed by Oscar de la Hoya and Richard Schaefer on Dec. 20.
Pacquiao will bring his family with him to spend Christmas and New Year in the United States.

Pacquiao and Marquez fought a classic fight on May 8, 2004 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas where Pacquiao decked Marquez to the canvas three times in the first round but Marquez later recovered to dominate Pacquiao in most of the remaining rounds. The controversial draw verdict left everyone wanting to see a rematch but several negotiations fell through bringing the latest negotiation to almost four years after the first fight.
Somewhere along the way, two Mexican legends, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera, have retired owing to their defeats in the hands of Pacquiao and Marquez.
By all indications, the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch will be the most anticipated fight of 2008.
