Paul Williams' Trainer Doubts Cintron's Story

George Peterson, trainer and manager of WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams is not sold on the right hand injury suffered by Kermit Cintron during his defense of the IBF welterweight crown against Jesse Feliciano last Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Peterson told Endi, that he did not see the fight between Cintron and Feliciano, but he heard plenty about it. Cintron is slated to face Williams on Feb. 2 in a unification battle on HBO, although Cintron has yet to sign the contract, according to Peterson. [details]

Williams is like the ****ing plague, nobody wants him. And say what you will about Margarito but at least he had the balls to give him his shot at the title. Too bad nobody else wants anything to do with him.

I have to agree with that, and I'm no Margarito fan. If Cintron doesn't want any (which is appears he doesn't) the ball goes back to Margarito.

whoa, nobody has said anything about cintron not taking this fight. what's with all the jumping to conclusions. and viva, margarito isnt all that. a good fighter, a fun fighter to watch, but not the best.

The story about his hand is bull**** IMO. And even without it, his performance against Feliciano was horrible. He's the weakest titleholder at 147 IMO and I pick him to lose against either Williams or Margarito, whichever he faces.
