ref stopped it too early. i felt it was a good stoppage when i first saw it but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and feliciano was VERY very close too winning. good luck to him, i'm sure he's made a fan out of every single person
who watched his fight.
dude, feliciano absorbed 14 unanswered shots, most of them power shots. the refs job is to protect the safety of the fighters. had jesse threw one punch during that barrage, maybe it would have been too early, but he took 14 big shots from that weightclasses biggest puncher...and not to mention jesse looked at the ref and nodded his head when it got stopped.

he caught like 15 flush shots, **** that. He fought his heart out, but he lost legit.

I think Cintron needs to add some bigger names to his resume before he can be called WW's biggest puncher. I find it funny that he hasn't received 1/100 of the ridicule that Margarito did (and Tony fought a better fighter,) and THIS WAS A TITLE DEFENSE !
Fight defeintly could of and would of gone on.. feliciano has one hell of a chin and it was apparant even a huge puncher like cintron couldnt KO him.. Not saying he would of won.. but I do think the ref jumped the gun a bit.. it was a bunch of unanswered punches but the kid was NOT out on his feet..

nothing states that you have to be out on your feet. the rule is that the ref protects a fighters safety. he was protecting jesse's safety. it would have been detrimental to Feliciano's health to have continued to take more punches. who knows when cintron would have stopped punching? Emile griffith got benny perit against the ropes once, and benny never went down, and when the ref jumped in benny was in a coma and died 10 days later. maintaining consciousness is not a sign that a guy is ok.
I think he got too ****y and that made him loose his focus, why did he have to walk Cintron back to his corner for? Maybe thats all the inspiration Cintron needed to land those ending bombs.
