When CORRALES and CASTILLO fought Eachother, were they in their PRIMES???

Just was talking about the fights with a few friends in a conference call type deal, and everyone but me seemed to agree that these guys were in their primes for their fights...

I dont think Corrales that far removed from his prime, and was probably in his prime, but i dont think Castillo was in his.

Castillo, IMO, was in his prime after he came off two wins over Stevie Johnston to win the Lightweight title, and seemingly upset Floyd Mayweather 2 years later.

But even then in 2002, he wasnt as good a body puncher as he is today even, and certainly not as good as he was against Corrales.

Its a very debatable topic, interested in what everyone thinks

I saw no signs whatsoever that either were out of their primes during that fight. If Castillo was slightly removed from his prime before hand, he surely jumped right back in in the first and 2nd fight with Corrales. I think those fights are what took the most out of him, along with years of struggling to make weight.

Even if they weren't, it doesn't matter.

Still the best fight I have seen.

its difficult to judge castillo because he only fights at hi top vs top opponents.....i consider the chico fight to be the best he's looked even better than when he beat PBF....chico's prime was in his prime in the casamyor 2 and castillo fights....

I don't see how Castillo could have been in his prime for the second fight, after 60 professional fights, and then be a complete bum a year and a half (and 3 wins, 0 losses) later against Hatton. Someone please explain this one to me.

they were definetly in there prime

castillo especially after his 2 losses to floyd he fought a couple of fights at welter and then return to lightweight to fight in order lazcano , casamayor, julio diaz, and then corrales all in the span about 11 months
talk about taking on the division best
