Pavlik only needed FOURTEEN (14) STITCHES!!!

    lol, what a massive mistake.

108 and 14 are way different. Heres a quote from "Fighting Words" on this website.

A clarification: Two weeks ago I noted that middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik got hurt while cleaning and repairing windows in his Youngstown, Ohio, home, suffering cuts on his arms and hands that required 108 stitches to close.

    That, apparently, wasn’t wholly true.

Pavlik only needed 14 stitches, which have since been removed, according to a recent press release that creates quite a discrepancy between this information and that provided to reporters by reliable sources. Nevertheless, Pavlik has been cleared to train for his February rematch with Jermain Taylor, which will take place at a catch-weight of 166 pounds.

good to hear yo I like Pavlik a whole lot even though I give Taylor a BIG edge here, Kelly is just a likeable dude, the kind of guy you could just kick it with and feel relaxed not like you chilling with a star, something like Ricky Hatton.. I also heard that he is going to be involved in a 2K sports Boxing game which I'm guessing is for the next level systems, I know this should be on the gaming side of the forums but I just thought y'all should know, Kelly Pavlik has signed, sealed and revealed it, it's in the new game informer.. I'm glad to hear the Ghost is good to go. 100

What a huge mistake. No wonder they are healed so quick. I was thinking 4-6 weeks when I first read 108.

Eh, there's a reason why it's a clarification and not a correction. As best written by Dan Rafael:

Manager Cameron Dunkin said the day after the accident that Pavlik required 108 stitches to close the wounds. Pavlik's father, Mike Pavlik, was also quoted as saying he needed 100 or so stitches. Arum said Tuesday that Pavlik needed only 14 stitches.
How do you not believe the manager and the father over the promoter?

By the way, KB, you can feel free to respond in the actual thread for the article. This didn't necessarily need a whole new thread just for itself.

            Thanks for reading.

oh im not blaming them at all, they took info from very reliable resources, it was a big story, and the printed it.

But how does the manager and father of Pavlik make that MASSIVE a mistake? lol

That's what I'm saying. It's not necessarily true that Dunkin and Pavlik's father made a mistake. It could be, sure, but this could also be a mistruth on the promotional end. The important thing to take out of that entry in The 10 Count is that Pavlik's been cleared to train.
