    Boxing ?

    If there is a controversial knock down and the ref calls it a knock down, Are the judges instructed to also call it a legit knockdown? Or can they just go with thier own opinion.

    Nope. The referee decides a knockdown or a point deduction, the judges have no say. They can only score a round one of three ways off their own volition: 10 to the winner of the round, 9 to the loser, or they can deduct a point from the loser if it was a severe beatdown, on top of any points lost for a knockdown.
