First Titlefight for Odlanier Solis on December 23!!

He will fight for the Latino Heavyweight championship, that means it will be a 12 rounder! I hope he will have lost some weight, i guess hes in training for some weeks already and by December 23 he should be in reasonable shape, i would like him to weigh in at about 240 and after that we will see if hes fine or if he should drop another 10 pounds.

Yeah 250-255 lbs is too much for him, I would like to see him fight at 240 or 235. He will be more quicker and effective

should fight John Ruiz. I like seein how guys like Solis and Povetkin are already big names in the Heavyweight division doin so much in the amateurs. It's good to see they don't hav to go through 25 journeyman befo gettin a good fight.

I doubt it will be a well known Top fighter or ex Topfighter like John Ruiz, maybe someone like Jorge Arias, Fernelly Feliz, or something like that. But i heard nothing about an possible opponent yet but Arias would be a good choise.

he needs to lose some weight. why cant these heavyweights get in shape solis seems to have good skill although he hasn't been tested in the pro's yet but the extra weight is gonna hurt him if he has to go the distance.

I have now watched 4 of his first 5 fights on youtube and he does look good. He has got good basics and good hand speed and his defence looks good to. He reminds me a bit of povetkin but it looks like with some work that he could be a bit better he seems more fluid in his movement and is not flatfooted. He does seem a bit amateurish at times but that is to be expected. I think the biggest problems will be that he is short at about 6ft1 and as he has never been past 4 rounds we don’t know what his stamina is like, We also don’t know what his chin is like.
