    Tough guys vs. the Bitches

...not intended to get into a heated discussion here, fellas.

Anyway....boxing is a sport where not just anybody can make a living by taking off their shirt and beating somebody else up.

Where are the guys with crooked noses who only think about knockouts? Where are the guys that would be disappointed to win a fight by a decision?

I mean...lets look at Joe Frazier. He had a real sense of pride to his life's work. His job was to beat the **** out of people. And I assume most of you want to be the best at your job, and you do take pride in it.

Nobody gets a bruise, nobody gets a bump, and the fight’s over. Boxing has to be an all or nothing affair in my opinion. If a guy is a professional boxer and he's always thinking about the long-term repercussions of his profession, then in my opinion, he should find another job.

My feeling is that the ring is no place for a guy to be second guessing himself. It's gotta' be "balls to the wall". Some of these guys today take no pride in what they do. Make no mistake....this is a "hurt" sport.

Anyway, what do you guys think about the above??

Let's get some different opinion here.

I guess you don't watch too much boxing today, maybe you only watch few fights here and there. There are many fighters today with the macho mentality, most are not that good.

Only in 2007, I was one of the best in predicting fights in 2005 and 2006 here at Boxingscene.

Do you actually believe predicting a fight turns you into a boxing genius?

No. But getting 20 in a row wrong, doesn't make you very smart.

LOL. All of them eh? Most of the guys who don't make it in boxing are the guys who think they can just put their gloves on and bomb away until their opponent falls at their feet. You don't hear a thing about those guys because they don't make it.

Everything adapts. Boxers have adapted from being two guys who stand in front of each other trying to knock each other into next week into a tough guys' thinking game. The fighters need to be tough and smart to excel today.
