Why the BIG GLOVES in the Vargas v. Mayorga fight?

I know im not the only one, but i may be the first one to point this out....the glove for the Vargas/Mayorga fight were ****en huge!

What happened to using 6oz even 8oz gloves?

Its ridicules how big the ****en gloves were its like the boxing commision doesn't want fighters to get ko's anymore but allow a fighter to absorb a beating, cause that is what is happening when using these big gloves -fighters absorb a lot of punchs vs. losing by ko early in a fight what has been said that lessen the damage vs. a prolonged beating with bigger gloves.

The boxing commision need to open there eyes and go back to the 6oz gloves.

You want to see fighters not get hurt then the commision needs to educate the reffere thoroly, but don't damage the sport by forcing fighters to wear clown ass sized gloves. You're ruining the sport with these clown gloves.

Fights above welterweight have to be fought with 10 ounce gloves. In Vegas now, they make them use 10 ounce gloves at junior welterweight and up.

This is just another thing that is wrong with the sport - big gloves.

I swear them big gloves looked like sparring gloves to me. 2 more oz's and you have sparring gloves.

The Neveda Boxing Commision are a bunch of dumb ****, chicken **** ****s, ignorant bastards.

If they cared for the fighters health then they would start with the refs.

Instead of having bigger gloves, have two refs afficiate a fight. One in the ring, the other outside of the ring refering the referre. Sometimes i assume a reffere gets too caught up in the fight doesn't know what is acutally happening(damage) in the ring. So when the break is rung, then the outside ref can talk to the inside(ring) ref and have him either look for the stoppage or stop the fight. Cause it felt ****** in a way seeing trained fighter who are compatent in boxng to be boxing with huge boxing gloves making them less effective. If the gloves were 6oz gloves, Vargas may have been ko'd or Mayorgas might have been ko'd. These guys were throwing bombs but looked like they were wearing huge sparring gloves.

If some one from the commision is reading this, get your head out of your ass and stop ****ing up the sport with these big gloves you are mandating boxers to wear. It was ****** when Hatton had to wear them when he fought in Vegas, and it looked clowish seeing them big gloves again in the Vargas-Mayorga fight.

Boxing is going down hell with these ****** ass gloves. We've talked here on this fourm how we don't see great punchers anymore or few of them. One reason defently has to be the small gloves being mandated by Neveda. They want to check boxing, yet they let mma fighters wear small as gloves. The Neveda Boxing Commmision are some ignorant ****ers! You ****ers are ruining boxing for me.

I agree that it would help out boxing with smaller gloves. I personally like when they use 8 oz gloves and hate it when they use 10oz gloves, but wouldn't go as far to say that it ruins boxing for me.

You're probably right. Which goes to show how much of a differnce these big gloves make. These are trained athletes, its not there fault they carry a punch, the next step should be educating the refferre's about stopping a fight when a fighter has taken too many hits, not by effecting the sport by given the boxer bigger gloves so he is able to absorb more punishment.

I belive it was Foreman who always used to say its the prolonged beating a boxer takes that causes tragetites, not the quic ko.

Leave the big gloves for sparring.
