I like ricky's strategy...
Hatton has the strategy planned out for Mayweather, as he informed the chat particpants, the formula is to shorten the distance and save energy for the later rounds.
"I would say that he spends too much time covering up and trying to soak it all up, if you like, and he depends on people running out of gas. There's nothing more tiring than punching air. He sets a hot pace but doesn't fight that way himself," Hatton said.
"Stick on his chest, so it's more difficult for him [to use his speed]. It's more likely for him to benefit with me standing on the outside. I'm very quick myself at covering the distance and moving in, plus very fast footwork. That will be a big key, moving in on him quick. I think the left-hand work is important, because he likes to drop his right shoulder. De La Hoya had a lot of success with it in the first six rounds, but after that, he slacked off the pace. It gave Floyd a way back into the fight, which he won't get against me."Comment

is this dude nuts or what? I respect Ricky, but Cotto?? he couldn't even beat Collazo convincingly, as you can see in my sig I don't even pick him to beat Floyd so how can he even be looking at Cotto? I think he should fight Floyd's sloppy seconds (Oscar De La Hoya).. 100Comment

Sounds good, I'm not sure he should be broadcasting his strategy this far away from fight night so that Floyd has plenty of time to practice on counteracting it in sparring.I like ricky's strategy...

Maybe I should watch more Cotto fights but from what I've seen, I'm not that impressed. Against Judah, imo, without the low blows, he loses that fight. And against Mosley, if the ref doesn't stop the action to "mop up water" looks to me like Cotto would have gotten KOd. When the 10 sec sounded in the last round, I've never seen someone run backwards so fast. Margarito or Cintron would KILL this dude and the Hatton fight would be closer than you think.is this dude nuts or what? I dont think its a secret of what he plans on doing, its what every fighter plans on doing to Floyd but he just adapts and breaks people down. Easier said than done, Hatton may be able to do that for a bit but hes going to get busted up in the process.Comment

I hope
I hope a part of his strategy is to feed PBF a false strategy, or at least leave some key elements with his camp. I don't care if he's just stating the obvious. He should have at least a little something up his sleeve.
Dude, don't be jumping all over Cotto's southern regions, he's great and I am a fan, but he didn't knock out Paulie, (destroying his face was pretty convincing though) or Shane, so don't count Hatton out entirely, a champion always has a shot.
I give him 30% against PBF in fact.Comment
