Sup Pop. Um 35% looking at about 122K off the top. But he hasnt paid that yet. Um 8 count probably got 10% 35k, i mean King takes 25% but he can do that so we're looking at 157K. Training expenses is paid by manager (any good manager). Then Manager and trainer take 20% total, so 70K. 227K from 350K equals 123K your right. But he shouldn't pay the full 35%, maybe 23% taxes. about 150K. Thats after the bills, what type of house or car payment does he have? And there are other fights that paid him as well. I see your point, but still skeptical.

So I dont take a person who wears suit and sits down looking at fighters after that talk with his fat ass critizing them in that way.

I bet Arum cant run a 1mile only if has a money in front of him

It's sad that people fail to see or acknowledge this fact. He deserves the opportunity to get a big payday. Whether or not he is a good fighter, he does bring his all to every fight and you can't ask for anything more from a fighter.

However, I do think Manny should fight JMM first and Diaz second though.

The Bob Arum hype machine seems to be running smoothly. How he ever expects to convince the fans that A) This would be a legitimate lightweight title fight, B) That this is a significant fight, and C) That this isn't an attempt for Arum to cash in on Diaz's momentary marketability is the true test of the promotion of this fight.

David Diaz is not embarrassed to admit that he sees lots of dollar sign when told about a Manny Pacquiao fight.

"I am not a greedy person," Diaz, the reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion told the Bulletin yesterday morning from his Chicago home. "But I have a family and I need to earn and it is Pacquiao that would guarantee a big paycheck."
"I think I deserve it," Diaz answered when told if $ 1 million will be enough.
The 31-year-old Diaz, who is of Mexican descent, said he "had barely enough" after winning over Erik Morales last August and a Pacquiao fight would help his family of four in their needs.
"The bills just keep on coming," said Diaz, who was paid $ 350,000 in the Morales fight, a far cry from the millions that Pacquiao has been getting the past several years.
Diaz lives in the Windy City with wife Tanya and kids David Anselmo, who is 2 and a half years old and Elias Armando, who is six months old, and is aching to land a megabuck payday.
A lefty like Pacquiao, Diaz holds a 31-1-1 win-loss-draw card with 17 knockouts and was a decorated amateur fighter, having been a three-time US Golden Gloves champion and a member of the US squad to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Diaz is the frontrunner in the race for the coveted post of becoming Pacquiao’s opponent on March 15, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas although WBC superfeatherweight titlist Juan Manuel Marquez is also being seriously considered because of some unfinished business with the Filipino southpaw.
While money makes Diaz drool over Pacquiao, his desire to lock horns with Pacquiao further heightened when told that there’s never been a Filipino boxer who has ever won the world lightweight title.
Flash Elorde failed twice in the 1960s to capture the 135-lb crown, while other losers include Bert Somodio, Andy Ganigan, Dindo Canoy and Randy Suico.
"Is that so?" Diaz responded. "It’s only motivating me even more," Diaz said. "When Morales fought me, he was aiming for a third title."
If and when he answers the bell against the 28-year-old Pacquiao, Diaz had this to say: "It’s going to be an all-out war."
Unlike Diaz, the 33-year-old Marquez is making noise in an effort to land a Pacquiao rematch, saying he is even willing to be paid lower than Pacquiao and that he is doing everything possible for them to come to terms.
Marquez concluded that in the event Pacquiao opts to face Diaz, then it would only mean that Pacquiao is scared of him.
Meanwhile, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said "Manny Pacquiao hasn’t made a decision" on the choice of his next foe.
An internet report said on Wednesday that Diaz had already been chosen by Team Pacquiao.
"That’s absolutely not true," said Arum although he is openly batting for Diaz, who is a Top Rank fighter.
Arum said that Marquez is "the last of the 130-pounders" and at lightweight, "there’ll be a whole number of guys" who’ll provide much bigger **** for the bucks for Pacquiao although he admits that a Pacquiao-Marquez rematch looks "appealing" at this point.
"Joan Guzman is a runner," said Arum, referring to the way Guzman emerged victorious from Top Rank fighter Humberto Soto over the weekend.
Arum said a decision will be made in the next few days after he confers with Pacquiao in the US.
                    Lols!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Of course D.Diaz is salivating.

It would probably be around 750k to 1 million for him. His biggest payday which he won't probably earn again from anybody else.

I say take the D.Diaz fight. Take his belt then fight Marquez. With pac having a belt (albeit only ceremonial) Marquez will surely shut up and will take an even bigger purse cut on the ground that Pac also commands a belt.

This is also the reason why JMM is bitching almost everyday.

Coz he knows once Pac gets a belt at 135 he will have no choice but to take a big paycut. Pac deserves at least 60-70 percent of the purse with a JMM rematch and if it does happen with Pac having a belt, JMM no longer has any bargaining power.

                      I agree.

One thing I respect about Diaz is his courage.

He does lay it all on the line when he fights.

And for fight fans you couldn't ask for anything more.

It is a bit sad actually.
