    160lb vs 168lb - How super are the Super-Middleweights?

We know the Middleweight division has been blessed with some of the most gifted fighters the sport has ever produced. Hagler, Robinson, Jones et al. But which division is in the healthier state in today's climate. The Super-middleweight division has often been derided as being devoid af any real talent and often though of as a wasteland for sub-par European fighters who couldn't make their mark at 160. Sven Ottke did the division no favors.

Which division possess the better fighters today? Is Kelly Pavlik the best of a bad bunch, Is Calzaghe one of many top super-middleweights who out shine their junior counterparts? Which reigns supreme?

It's not even close imo. 168 is loaded with talent. I count Taylor as a Super Middle now too.

If he hasn't had a fight at 168 why would consider him one?

Most Middlweights that made the division better have moved up to Super Middleweight so my vote goes to 168.

There is some good prospects in the MW division like Peter Quillin, I think he's a SMW now. (You can check out his fights on youtube) Than there is one prospect that beat Andy Lee in the amateurs, forgot his name.

For me it's SMW right now, basically because many MW's have now moved up and made the division stronger.

i would get rid of the super middleweight division and just move middleweight limit up to 168lb.

                  Hmmmm....Let me think

                  Super Middleweight:

                  Joe Calzaghe
                  Mikkel Kessler
                  Lucien Bute
                  Jeff Lacy
                  Anthony Dirrell
                  Anthony Hanshaw
                  Andre Dirrell
                  Andre Ward
                  Jean Paul Mendy
                  Anthony Mundine
                  Carl Froch
                  Denis Inkin
                  Sakio Bika
                  Librado Andrade
                  Edison Miranda
                  Jean Pascal
                  Allan Green

                  vs

                  Middleweight:

                  Jermain Taylor (Moving to 168)
                  Kelly Pavlik (Moving to 168)
                  Felix Sturm
                  Arthur Abraham
                  Ronald Hearns
                  Andy Lee
                  John Duddy
                  Sergio Mora
                  Wayne El****
                  Roman Karmazin

I would pick Super middleweight, It is the best division after Welterweight.

Supermiddleweight is a way deeper division than Middleweight. Especially now that it looks like Joe may be looking North.. more chances for the other guys.
