Listen mate , I know you hate Floyd but at least realize he is no welterweight , Ricky steps in the ring at a higher fight weight in a jnr welter fight than Floyd does in a Welter fight , dont you realize Floyd is fighting outside his best weight , he only went thier to get the fight with Oscar and is only staying thier because he happens to hold the belt , but dont kid yourself Floyd is not a welterweight .What does one thing have to do with the other? I don't like that Floyd goes out of the very talented division in the last YEAR to fight a DLH with 1 fight in 3 years with 2 losses in his last 4, and then picks a JWW in Hatton that looked poor in his only showing at WW against a B level fighter. In spite of this he claims to be trying to unify the WW division and trying to prove he is the greatest of all time, when really he just cares about money, and seemingly nothing about making his fights entertaining. Unless of course it's against a washed up version of one of the most hittable champs ever in Gatti, which was the absolute easiest belt he could find at 140. Mayweatherites like yourself, give Hatton absolutely zero chance of beating Mayweather, and for that reason alone, I find myself compelled to root for Ricky. If Floyd fights and beats Cotto and Williams (which will never happen) I will never say another bad word about him, EVER.Comment

Floyd fought Oscar at Junior Middleweight, not Welterweight. At the weigh-in he was 150 and we all know that Floyd stays in phenominal shape. He obviously has no plans to defend his 154 belt, but he is talking about unifying the welterweight division. So what is he doing fighting junior middleweights? And why not fight Hatton at 140? Perhaps because Ricky looked terrible in his only fight at 147?Listen mate , I know you hate Floyd but at least realize he is no welterweight , Ricky steps in the ring at a higher fight weight in a jnr welter fight than Floyd does in a Welter fight , dont you realize Floyd is fighting outside his best weight , he only went thier to get the fight with Oscar and is only staying thier because he happens to hold the belt , but dont kid yourself Floyd is not a welterweight .Comment

gayeather himself said he wont gain anything from beating hatton. so its a lose or nothing saituation i guess is how he sees it.Can you explain something to me? You say Hatton will win, and make threads about it, then at the same time you say you wont give Floyd credit "because he will duck Cotto". Its really weird, you favour Hatton to win, then if he loses you still badmouth Floyd. Always a lose-lose situation for him is'nt it?Comment

He couldnt go straight to 154 he had to build up to get near it , the whole exercise was to get Oscar in the ring who he had been calling out for a long time , by building his profile winning the welter crown and agreeing to all demands he got Oscar in the ring , he stepped into the ring weighing 148 , Hatton steps into the ring in his jnr welter fights weighing 150 -153 ,,,, no welterweight fighter fights at 148 , true welters are closer to 160 on fight night ,,,,,, my comment remains ,,,,,, Floyd is not a welterweight !Floyd fought Oscar at Junior Middleweight, not Welterweight. I believe Floyd is fighting at welter because at this stage of the game its easy for him , no dieting etc and the division is stronger and he holds the title , Hatton dont loose his jnr title even after Floyd beats him so its win win for Hatton ,,, to say he picked Hatton because he looked bad at welter is being ignorant he is fighting Hatton because its good business and the public want it , its common knowledge why Hatton looked bad at welter or why he says he looked bad was because he tried to match the size of a fully fledged welterweight ,,,, Hatton and Floyd are both jnr welters that just happen to be fighting for a welter title its really a catch weight or wanting a better word matchrace , they may as well be fighting for a middle title because the size dont matter as these two are the same size fighters .
It annoys me that people that pick Hatton to win are trying to imply that Floyd picked an easy mark , you cant take that stand and be credible , its contradictory to your selection , if you want to have that argument you better change to picking Floyd to win before you start down that road .Last edited by RodBarker; 11-22-2007, 04:33 AM.Comment

floyld has the structure to be heavier, hes 5 8 and has a long reach. he just doesnt build on it. i mean ricky was saying how skinny floyld is. i agree flyold fights at a low weight and so does hatton. flyold sometimes even lower. for flyold his style is to move so beign light emans ehs faster. for hatton he gets stuck in and is physical. so being heavier is better but not too heavy that he is slowed down too much.He couldnt go straight to 154 he had to build up to get near it , the whole exercise was to get Oscar in the ring who he had been calling out for a long time , by building his profile winning the welter crown and agreeing to all demands he got Oscar in the ring , he stepped into the ring weighing 148 , Hatton steps into the ring in his jnr welter fights weighing 150 -153 ,,,, no welterweight fighter fights at 148 , true welters are closer to 160 on fight night ,,,,,, my comment remains ,,,,,, Floyd is not a welterweight !

floyld does need to fight cotto if he truely believes he is the best welter. its like ali never fighting foreman and frazier. he cant say he is the best if he didnt fight the best.Comment
