I'm pretty confident that Floyd will win this fight by decision. Losing this fight by decision and looking bad at it would do some damage to Ricky's career. So the best option in my opinion is to do something drastic, something memorable, a gameplan that will ensure that fans will still hold Ricky in high regard if he loses.
These first 3 rounds are designed prepare Ricky for what he will try to do later in the fight. It may not be pretty or exciting, but if he were to follow the directions, it could turn out good for him.
Rounds 1-3
Take the initiative and always be first with a jab as soon as he gets to striking distance. Keep to the right giving him a couple of juxes here and there and try to lure him towards Hatton instead of being the agressor even if this makes the fight boring at this point. These first 4 rounds should be composed of more technical punches than power punches. Jab, Jab, Jab, straight, occasional power hook or body shot.
Rounds 4-7
Time to pressure and cut off the ring. Continue with the jab but to set up power punches and flurries. Rough him up a bit and even try to hang on him when tied up. If he gets on the ropes and starts to get ready to do his shoulder roll, avoid standing infront of him to throw punches and strike from an angle. Look for openings to the body and the head. Keep the pressure as annoying as possible but make sure that the distance is wide enough not to smother punches. Of course, all this would need to be accomplished while keeping to the right, circling around Floyd at all times and hardly standing infront of him for more than 10 seconds.
Rounds 8-9
Revert to the same plan as rounds 1-3 but a bit more agressive, more power shots. This would be his time to recoup from the expended energy in rounds 4-7.
Round 10
Back to pressuring to the right and attempting to land more power shots. Cut off the ring and utilize the jab to set up a powershot, but not waste too much energy.
Round 11-12
Go for the money shot and knock him out. Set him up with combinations and faints. Go all out, balls to the wall, remember the Alamo etc etc
