Even HBO have said they would be billing this fight with Calzaghe as the big name superstar. Hopkins is a joke, even in his own country.

About this whole B-Hop calling him out thing, funny how he did it when Calzaghe was otherwise engaged. He has the perfect chance to make the fight now, only thing is, he knows he would lose, so he instead changes to talking of a rematch with RJJ. Hopkins is an old fighter, RJJ is an old fighter who has aged badly. Hopkins beats RJJ pretty much with ease, Calzaghe beats Hopkins with ease. A RJJ fight would help make you money, a Calzaghe fight would effectively end your career. I'm not suprised the chicken **** doesnt want Joe, just wish hed stop the bull****.

The offer, if it is genuine, is one that relies on two people agreeing to it - Frank Warren and Joe Calzaghe. I doubt Warren would agree to the stipulations in the contract and depending on Calzaghe's current situation with TV companies in the UK it may be unworkable.

Yeah well, all excuses aside, it appears that Hopkins' trainer that is advising Bernard to dodge Calzaghe again. Here is the direct quote from the article:

plus hopkins has tsated he wont fight till june/july! which if this is to be calzaghes last year in boxing he wants to fight before then! march/aprl time preferrably! so ideally if hopkins face joe in march/ april! calzaghe could stll face pavlik and either the dawson/woods winner or roy jones before the years out! just another case of hopkins ****ing up more big fights than his own
