Question: Why did The Ring stop reconizing champs between 93-2001/2?

I've always wondered why they stopped giving out their belt in 93. Anyone have an answer?

Champions when The Ring stopped recognizing them:

        Heavyweight - Rid**** Bowe
        Cruiser - Vacated
        Light Heavy - Vacated
        Super middle - None
Middleweight - Sambu Kalmbu (Then stopped publication for 7 months)
Jr. Middleweight - Vacated? (Hearns had it till 86)
Welterweight - Marlon Starling (Or vacated?)
        Jr. Welter - vacated
        Lightweight- Pernell Whitaker
        Jr. Lightweight - Brian Mitchell
        Featherweight - Antonio Esparagora
        Junior Feather: Vacated
        Bantam - Vacated
        Junior Bantam: None
        Flyweight: Yong Kim kam
        Jr. Fly - none
        Straweight - none

I don't know what happened. Stopping a title because your champions are **** seems weird to me. Especially after the history of The Ring.
