Arum Not Against De La Hoya-Pacquiao Clash

According to a recent report in the Manila Bulletin, Top Rank president Bob Arum appeared with Filipino writer Dennis Principe on DZSR 918, a Manila based radio station, talking about the possibility of a clash between Manny Pacquiao, currently a super featherweight, and Oscar De La Hoya, currently a junior middleweight - at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds. De La Hoya .VS. Pacquiao is as absurd as matching Miguel Cotto against Kelly Pavlik... The fact that anybody is entertaining this notion is ridiculous

Really? A fighter who weighed in at 130 in his last fight vs. a fighter who weighed in at 154 in his? Yes, Manny blew up 14 pounds but DLH blew up 10. We're still talking about a 20 pound difference between the fighting weights of both of these guys.

Pac vs. Mayweather is different because Floyd could probably still make 140 if he wanted to. But DLH hasn't even shown he can make 147!

Why not just set up DLH - Klitschko?

I wish DLH would retire and stop messin **** up. He has no business fighting Pacquiao, Cotto, Mayweather, etc.

All this does is take away from potential match ups that should be happening right now like Cotto vs Mayweather or Pacquaio vs Marquez/Guzman, etc.

I don't really mind if he keeps fighting but he should fight people in his same weight class and around the same skill level.

de la hoya has fought his share of smaller guys moving up but this is totally different. this would be a total disgrace.

it would be more disgraceful than taking photos in fishnets.
