Hatton vs. PBF..another Naz vs. Barrera?

And not how you might think....

    from skysports.com

"Barrera was a big underdog for the fight. Stepping up in weight, the aggressive Mexican looked tailor-made for Naz. The gulf in sheer talent looked immense - until the first bell. Then the self-styled Baby-Faced Assassin took Hamed to school.

Why? Well sometimes people underestimate the craft and skill of a come-forward fighter.

Or perhaps Hamed was complacent, maybe the life style, the hype, the backslapping, it all caught up with him. Could the same be true here?

Oh, and by the way, Barrera walked Hatton into the ring with Wayne Rooney for the Jose Luis Castillo fight. They have plenty in common... "

An interesting anology. I'm sure you like me automatically assumed that Barrera would take the role of PBF in this notion. However... what do you think?

I dont think this is anything like that fight ,, Naz was a pretender that got exposed the first time he stepped up ,neither Floyd or Ricky are pretenders and Barrera is nothing like Floyd or Ricky ,,, I cant see any similarities in the two fights .

Naz was definately more technically sound than Mayweather though, for sure.

        You are being sarcastic right?!!

The post doesn't say whether Naz and PBF are technically similiar... it talks of how a come forward fighter with that pressure style can unnerve the best counter-punchers and make easy work of the defensive fighters.

It also looks at one fighter becoming complacent after listening to his praises to much... (anyone else still hearing the tapping of PBF's dance shoes?).

I'm not saying Naz was ****ing better than PBF.

I'm saying... they're both awkward counter-punchers with huge egos - going against aggressive counterpunchers who are largely considered underdogs!

Edit: Yes, Naz's trunks were better.

Wait... I thought we were talking about Naseem Hamed, that idiot who didn't block a single punch in his entire career, and only thought he was quick enough to dodge punches.

Wait...i thought we we're talking about defensive boxing. Which does include body and foot movement - which is just as important as parrying and blocking. Which Naseem also did.

                Nice try. Try again.

No comparism at All, Mayweather is a gym rat while Naz at the stage of his career doesnt bother train or listen to no-one.

Naz had power and relies on it and his reflexes, Mayweather actually block punches and counter.

So because Barrera broke through Hamed's body movement, foot movement and counterpunching, that makes it automatic that Ricky can do that to Mayweather...

AND stop him from blocking his shots? Because Naz didn't try to block a single shot thrown by Barrera.

Thank you! It was a nice try, wasn't it?
