Bernard Hopkins: "Demetrius Will Beat Malignaggi"

In a recent interview with BoxingScene.com's Jose Aguirre, Bernard Hopkins said that his nephew, unbeaten junior welterweight Demetrius Hopkins (28-0-1, 11KOs), will beat IBF champion Paulie Malignaggi (23-1, 5KOs). Hopkins would like to see the fight be made in early 2008 and would like to place it on the undercard of his fight against Joe Calzaghe, if that bout comes off, or headline it's own card.

I'm not too sure about this one, Demtrius has more power in his shots(BOTH relatively do NOT hit hard but between the 2 D-Hop got it) but Paulie has the skills, I think Paulie can pull this off, I actually would love to see this fight unfurrel, it's a great look for Boxing because these 2 guys are VERY skilled accept I think Paulie is better in that field.. Demetrius is a good Boxer don't get me wrong but I notice things that shake me up on him like the close fights against lesser skilled fighters like Paulie.. much like Ivan Calderon the homie Paulie Malinaggi relies on his skills to be the difference, I think he might be able to outsmart D-Hop to a non-controversial Decision, I DEFINITELY don't see a KO here, not even a TKO because thats not what these guys do, they can fight but due to the lower KO ratio for Paulie and only 1 loss against the best man in 147 after a hard fought battle I think Paulie with his heart and skills can out do Demetrius..

I would like to see Demetrius fight someone who CAN really test him, maybe Ricardo Torres or someone in that magnitude to test his chin and see how he deals with pressure, maybe Junior Witter? one thing is for sure I would have NO complaints about Paulie-Demetrius going down, I would PERFER to see D-Hop face, as I stated above, a more presurized fighter but **** it yo these 2 are ready for each other, I see a VERY good technical battle going down here with no knockdowns and barely any clinches, pop shot and combination city here and I love it, the technical breakdown of this fight great.. 100

That's a lie Hopkins continued to say D-Hop would beat "Maginatti". Hilarious stuff.
