Mind Set of a Defensive Boxer?

I Reviewed a few Of Floyd Mayweather, Willie Pep, Joan Guzman, and Pernell Whitaker fights. I realized they all had one thing in common besides the art of defense. They all had Hand/Wrist injuries while they were in fights which hampered their output of punches in their fights. Many seem to over look these fighters and call them runners, or bitches because they choose not to throw punches just for the sake of throwing them but rather they pick spots and counter puncher their opponents and demoralize them in the process, while winning the fight. I find it funny how everyone is calling Mayweather and Guzman boring when they are using their athleticism to beat their opponents
Willie Pep is one of the Greatest Fighters of all time but now he would be called a ***** because he won a whole round without throwing a punch and won many more throwing less than 10 punches a round. Pernell Whitaker had the same "**** you" Attitude of Floyd Mayweather before Mayweather and he is still praised on this forum. Alot of the Boxing Fans are hypocritical and base their hate on Fighters for personally reasons and not because their skill.

I think a lot of the people that criticize and hate on Mayweather, Guzman, et al, simply do not understand boxing that well.

Everyone wants fighters to be a Diego Corrales or Gatti but they fail to realize that these types of fighters tend to have short careers (and also lose).

Some "Boxing" fans seem to want a Gatti/Ward slugfest and hate on guys like Floyd and Guzman....but when the sport is threatened by detractors, they turn around and USE those guys they hate on to defend how "their" sport Boxing is about skill and the sweet science...and more than guys just going in there and bashing each other's brains in...

not every fighter wants to be brain dead or slurring their speach before they are 35...

a beauty of the sport to me is that there are so many different styles and types of fighters
