Larry Merchant was politically correct to call Cotto-Mosley a tie, totally expected. Last week, I saw it 115-113 Cotto. Last night, sober, and chilling at home I scored like this...
1- Cotto
2- Cotto
3- Mosley
4- Cotto (Mosley hold too much)
5- Mosley
6- Cotto (Mosley ran)
7- Cotto
8- Cotto
9- Mosley (Cotto ran)
10- Mosley
11- Cotto
12- Mosley (Cotto ran)
So once again I called it 115-113, Cotto. But I will be honest, it was a great fight I will buy a 11-114 score and even a score 0f 116-112 in favor of Cotto. BUT Mosley did not win the fight, not even 115-113.
About the "wet mat" incidents, it happende to both fighters. you could tell Cotto used the center to dry off his soles a couple of tmies. Both time the ref paid attention to the wet mat was because Mosley complaint, even when it was to his disadvantage.
About Mares, he is very good and has well developed skills. Still, I did see like 3 lowblows, that did not hurt Marchiano nor the ref caught. Marciano fake lowblows when it did not happend and kept fighting when it did happen, beats me. As a side note, I am beginning to understimate fighters from Argentina. They take a beating, but can't box at all. Marchiano's head was huge, just like Baldomir... lol!!! Maybe Mathessee was over rated when he was undefeated and fighted Williams... then again, after getting killed with the devastating KO combo by Cintron, this guy will never be the same. A sure case of Parkinsons in the future.
About Guzman, he is a clown, a jerk. Guzman showed he was the faster guy, the stronger guy, THE BETTER MAN... PERIOD. So why run during the last rounds??? All he had to do was to stand on his ground and knock the **** out of Soto. Showing off and literally running away and giving his back to Soto made him look very weak. One thing is to hit and run when you got an opponent bigger than you. (like Ivan Calderon and Floyd Mayweather use in their strategies) But to literally run away from a weaker opponent is pathetic. Cotto agaisnt Mosley used the hit and run 2-3 rounds and only "literally ran away" during the last round, Guzman did it for the last 3-4 rounds. Add the fact that this guy is Dominican, and I already want to see him kiss the floor for the count ASAP!!! What a pathetic loser!!!
