Definitely top 10, maybe even in the top 5.

Top 3 for certain i have his career set and he is one of the best Heavyweights of all time he dominated Shavers twice and he took one of the hardest over hand rights i've ever seen from any heavyweight and he got up at the count of 4 and then beat the crap out of Shavers he beat Norton more convincing than Ali ever managed forgetting the judges scorecards which were off and he beat some good contenders like Cooney, Witherspoon,
He also gave Mercer a boxing lesson while being 40+ he gave prime Holyfield very tough arguement winning 5 rounds and imo should of become 2nd oldest Heavyweight champion of the world because i felt he beat Oliver McCall i just wish Holmes vs Foreman would of fought in the 90s.Comment

he was a great boxer but norton and shavers were well past there primes and I thought witherspoon beat holmes. that was a bs decisionTop 3 for certain i have his career set and he is one of the best Heavyweights of all time he dominated Shavers twice and he took one of the hardest over hand rights i've ever seen from any heavyweight and he got up at the count of 4 and then beat the crap out of Shavers he beat Norton more convincing than Ali ever managed forgetting the judges scorecards which were off and he beat some good contenders like Cooney, Witherspoon,

I wonder if he would've beaten Ali in Ali's prime...A big guy with one of the greatest jabs ever, you could argue Holmes at #1 if u wanted
But I have him at 3 I believeComment

No they wern't way past there prime Norton shortly before Holmes fight lost very controversial decision to Ali and then he beat good fighter like Jimmy Young who was fresh off beating George Foreman so Norton wern't past his prime by any means.
And Shavers shortly before his first meeting with Holmes lost a very controverisal decision to Ali and Holmes was huge underdog before the Shavers fight so Shavers wern't past his prime and when Shavers had lost to Holmes he then went on to destroy Norton in 1 round in arguably one of his finest performance's then got a rematch against Holmes i don't know why you think Shavers and Norton were way past there prime.
And as for Witherspoon fight Holmes won by 1 round on my card if i remember right commentary was very biased i suggest you rewatch the fight without the sound.Comment

Around 4-7 i'd say off the top of my head.
No matter how you look at it he was one of the best but I think a lot more fighters would have been able to beat him then what his legend suggest but even then there is still only a hand full of them.
{This is not my rating}
1.I think Tyson beats him every time.
2.Frazier would give him pure hell but it could go either way.
3.Lewis might be able to do some damage with his overhands and size.
4.Holyfield would always give him a lot of trouble but Holmes should be able to win on points as much as i hate to say it.
5. I think a younger Ali would have outworked with his speed him for the most part but i'll go with 2-1 out of 3 for either or.
6. Holmes would have either outboxed a young Foreman or been ko'd.
A old Foreman would have had a much better chance because he was more relaxed and out thought his ooponent instead of just going for bombs.
7&8. Wlad & Vit would give him a lot of trouble with their own skills and their own jab + size. I think Holmes would win both fights but i wouldn't count the big guys out either.
9. Joe Louis had just about everything that Holmes had but wasn't as fast on his feet and was somewhat small 6' 190.
Louis also had amazing power, aggression and instincts all of which Holmes also had.
I think Louis's chin was a bit better but Holmes size and movement would be enough to score and win on points.
10. Rid**** Bowe grew into a super heavyweight and kept a great deal of speed with him during his prime which i feel is well underrated by most today.
He had the same size maybe a little more power a pretty good chin and good infighting skills which he would very much need against Holmes.
I think it just comes down to wether or not Bowe shows up in shape or not.
11. If an old Ken Norton could give Holmes that much trouble just think what he would have done a few years sooner.
For ever reason Norton had the fight of his life on that night, could he do it again?
I think so Norton did well with the Ali & Holmes style his downfall was big punchers who could get him to brawl.Comment

You say they were past there prime but give me no facts i gave you the facts that they were still fighting good opponents and winning so how were they *well past there prime* ??
Witherspoon vs Holmes was a close fight it could of gone either way but its not like it was a robbery i had Holmes winning by 1 point.Comment
