    weight issues

The question remains: Is the day before the fight weigh-in a bad idea? If the day of the fight weigh in was still enforced there would be less chances of bad fights being made, in recent years we have seen guys gaining up to 20pounds to for the day of the actual fight.

We have seen fights in the past like Gatti v Joey Gamache, were Gatti was clearly drained the day before the fight and looked like nothing but skin and bones, then the day of the fight looks huge, the much bigger man in the ring and has put on so much weight that he prob isn’t even fighting in the same division as Joey.

Scott Harrison also used this to his advantage when he was fighting Wayne McCulloch were Scott looked like a different person at the weigh in, and Wayne joked and said he thought that Scott had sent his brother to fight him when he seen him in the ring. Cotto is another young fight who was known for coming in a lot heavier than the fight weigh(when he was at 140, don’t think he has done this at 147)

I think we should go back to day of the fight weigh-in what about you guys?

No, because there are advantages and disadvantages about being the bigger guy in the ring. Being the bigger guy in the ring Oscar was against floyd. Floyd came into fight night at 148, when Oscar probably was 160 and a bit more.
