Miguel Cotto: The Pride of Puerto Rico

Don't get me wrong, I like Cotto, but he does not seem to be the pride of Puerto Rico. Trinidad WAS the pride. He fought for PR. Cotto is a great fighter, but he fights for himself. Puerto Rico loves him, but it is far from the love they had for Tito. -
lmao somebody watched Countdown to Cotto-Mosely too much. Thats a very ignorant thing to say. Cotto is always repping Puerto Rico to the fullest, just because he aint a loud and charismatic (whateva that word is) doesnt mean he fights just for himself. Get the *** outa here with that.
Puerto Rico had a huge celebration for Cotto when he came home after the Mosley fight. They had parade and big celebrations jst like Tito used to get. Almost the whole island ordered the fight on PPV. At this moment in time...Cotto IS the pride of Puerto Rico.
The real question is, when is someone going to tell Edison Miranda that he is NOT Puerto Rican?Comment

I spend much time in Puerto Rico (in the boxing scene) and there is a big difference in what the people felt toward Tito and what they feel towards Cotto. No doubt he is HUGE and people love him, but it is not the same.
Anywhere I have been in PR where Miranda and Cotto are together, Miranda gets as much, if not more attention. No, he is not Puerto Rican, but he fights for the Island and represents them. He has his home there and a Puerto Rican child. The island has adpoted him as he has shown so much respect for them.
So STFU about your 'real question' 'cause if you knew the love and attention the Island gives him you wouldn't ask such a ****** thing.Comment
