joe, listen man. im not a powerlifter, or a weightlifter, and im not gonna make up stories about heavy guys i sparred with, or light guys or whatever. the tihngs u said about ronnie coleman being able to cope with a heavyweight in the ring are ridiculous. they made weight divisions for FIGHTERS, not for average joes. u have never been in the ring with a real fighter before. u have no clue what it means to jus keep ur hands up for 3 minutes without throwin one punch. bet u couldnt do it....
me and u fight, u dont make it out of round 1. trust.Comment

When I said bantam I meant 126. 166 lbs for a guy close to 6'0 is not that skinny especially if your legs are thin. Your point?Comment

LOL You dont really think just because a guy can lift a lot of weight it means he can punch do you?? I mean, I know there are people that think body builders, weight lifters etc can punch hard just because they have big muscles etc etc...but EVERYBODY in boxing knows this is the furthest from the truth. Actually, in the gym, two of the weakest hitters I have run across were two guys who were maybe 240 pounds of solid muscle. Body building, weightlifting types. Execution of punches means A LOT MORE than size of muscles.I remember when I first figured this out in the ring. I got in there with a very green football player that out weighed me by about 40lb. He was all roided up and looked quite intimidating, then he loaded up with everything he had, caught me flush, and I just kinda giggled. The guy couldn't even hit as hard as my 140lb sparing partner.
All his muscles, and strength, and this 190lb football player couldn't even hit as hard as my 140lb sparring partner. I told him to turn over his punches, and showed him how to punch correctly in between rounds, but he just looked at me like I was crazy. I think he actually thought he had power. I just worked my defense and touched him with the jab the rest of the time.
The next day he sparred with a 47 year old thats been boxing since he was 8. The guy wasn't nearly as nice as I was, he beat that kid silly. Never saw him again.LOL Ronnie Coleman would blast Kimbo Slice inside the ring, didnt Kimbo just beat a legendary heavyweight before?
If weight was really nothing, and skills everything, why did Floyd opt to run at the higher divisions against guys with less than a tenth of his skills? IT'S BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT DIFFERENCE ******.weightlifting doesn't teach u how to block a punch or how to throw one... and kimbo slice is the king of the streets... i saw a fight between a weight lifter and a boxer when i was a teenager, the boxer knocked the weightlifter out of the ring, and he never came back to the boxing gym againLOL you sure got a one-track mind. Just because you're bodybuilding doesnt mean you cant box. We have boxers who are athletes more than anything else. And boxing is not only about skills, it's about power and the ability to take a punch, which boxing alone can't teach you. To dismiss those who can easily bench 500-lbs like Ronnie Coleman is so ****ing ******ed, you obviously dont know anything about strength.Comment
