you can say he did, he never tried to run from him or OVER Box him but he was very defensive, depends what you call toe to toe because usually people think of a bloody war when they say that but Floyd STOOD in front of Oscar and just out boxed him.. to ME I will say yes because he gave Oscar every opportunity to hit him and Oscar just wasn't fast enough to catch him, he stuck his tounge out at him, he laid on the ropes mad times, he basically just said come here and try to hit me and Oscar couldn't, all the while Floyd was cracking Oscar..

Oscar had EVERY chance to crack him but he couldn't break the defense, Floyd was just on the defensive for the most part but he must have been doing some sort of hitting if he won the fight ya dig it ain't like he ran he was just able to block and counter and keep blocking, no running though so yes I can say Floyd stood there with him he just didn't let himself get hit back, going toe to toe doesn't exactly mean get your jaw wired, he went toe to toe but he STILL used the art of Boxing which makes him THAT much greater IMO.. 100

For the most part he did. The only fight he danced in was against Baldomir. Floyd beat Baldomir with one hand for 3-5 rounds. He danced the championship rounds and was still winning them. Floyd secured the victory against Oscar in the championship rounds. Oscar was in it until the end. Floyd didn't need some great offense to beat Oscar who tires out late anyway.

        I don't give a **** if he stood toe-to-toe or not he beat Oscar. That's non-debatable.

I just rewatched Mayweather vs. Baldomir... he went toe-to-toe with Baldomir a hell of alot more than he did against De La Hoya. I really now fail to see why everyone thought Mayweather vs. Baldomir was the most boring fight of all time. Probably because they subscribe to the Larry Merchant theory that, "any fight that has less action that Morales-Barrera I is a boring fight."

He definately didn't go toe-to-toe with De La Hoya. But he definately didn't run. He hit him, and got out of the way for the return shot, for the most part. That doesn't indicate running or toe-to-toe to me.

Delete this thread because it's just that ******. If anyone votes yes he went toe to toe they need to get their eyes checked and go follow another sport. Floyd ran just about every round that is why Delahoya got tired because trying to follow someone around that is running and trying to punch them is a hell of a lot more tiring than being set and punching.

Yes he went toe to toe, about four times, for about three seconds each and came off the worst each time.

Look, even if you gave a coward a billion dollars he would never fight like a man.
