watson had dominated eubank for a lot of the fight and would have gone onto bigger and better things he looked so much better at supper middle weight and would have given anyone even the likes of calzaghe and McClellan a tough fight and i think a 2nd watson benn fight would have been much better than the 2nd eubank benn fight.

Yeah it tragic, such a shame.
iv been watching fights from that era lately, Benn, Eubank, Collins, but hadnt heard much about Watson, but watching his performances against Eubank and Benn, he looked a great boxer.

Out of Benn,Eubank and Watson it was Watson that was my favourite.
I picked him to beat the unbeaten Benn at Finsbury Park in a masterful performance against a strong but one dimensional fighter at the time.

I was there cheering him on in the first Eubank fight and there is no way Eubank won that fight. It was really funny because after the fight when Eubank left the ring there must have been at least 200 people baying for his blood (me included). I just remember what seemed at the time half the arena although probably not that much chasing Eubank and his handlers on the way back to his dressing room, they were all running as fast as they could with loads of us charging after him.

Watson proved in the rematch that he was the better fighter and totally outclassed Eubank and completely pressurized him with not stop attacking, trying to not leave it to the judges this time around. When he floored Eubank I thought this is it revenge and redemption but Eubank proved how tough and great he was in that one moment. After getting up Watson moves towards him to finish him off but an exhausted Eubank lands one of the greatest punches I have ever seen in my life. It was tragic what happended to Watson but what I think is more tragic is the way everyone seems reluctant to talk about it because of what happened afterwards.

Every boxer knows the risks and accepts them, and Watson does not have any regrets and is a wonderful human being even completing the london marathon to raise money for those less fortunate.

The fight was an absolute classic and although tragic should be remembered for what is was a great fight where both fighters put there lives on the line for the sport they loved so much.

i agree although McClellan Benn was ultimately just as tragic it was'nt no where near as good as the Watson V Eubank 2 fight it is 1 of the best fights ive ever seen regardless of the outcome

And Benn-McClellan was absolutely awesome, but I agree, it wasn't a patch on Eubank-Watson II!!

Watson that night was hideous, where did he get that drive from?? How did he keep up that pace? How did he take all those punches and keep firing back? How did he keep up those blistering clusters of combinations and big overarm rights?

Eubank was no slouch, and was giving his absolute all, but Watson was just unreal that night
